The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between job satisfaction and organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) among retail employees in Indonesia. About 275 retail employees in the Jogjakarta area participated in this study. The survey was conducted to test the hypothesized relationship between job satisfaction and organizational citizenship behavior of the retail employees. The 5point Likert-scale research instrument for job satisfaction and its facets was developed based on the work of Smith, and that of for OCB. Thus, in this research, OCB is defined as being composed of 3 main dimensions, namely, 1) helping behaviors; 2) civic virtue; and 3) sportsmanship. Based on the multiple regression analysis, it is found that overall, job satisfaction and demographic variables can account for about 43.2 percent of the variation in retail employee OCB level.
Promoting Organizational Citizenship Behavior among Employees - The Role of Leadership Practices
International Journal of Business and Management
Despite of numerous studies that investigate the relationship between leadership and The Organizational Citizenship Behavior, very few of these studies have examined the influences of leadership practices -as defined by Kouzes and Posner (1987) -on organizational citizenship behaviors. Moreover, most of these studies have been conducted in western context (developed counties). In this regard, current study has three main purposes: first, investigate the influences of leadership practices on organizational citizenship behaviors. Second, conduct this investigation in Arabic context (developing country). The third purpose of this study is to investigate the mediating effect of organizational commitment on the relationship between leadership practices and organizational citizenship behaviors.

SSRN Electronic Journal, 2019
Various studies have been conducted to study the relationship between job involvement and organizational citizenship behavior but a very little work have been done to study the impact of both job involvement and organizational commitment on "organizational citizenship behavior". Thus the purpose of the study is to find out the relationship between job involvement, organizational commitment and organizational citizenship behavior and also to study if there is any impact of job involvement and organizational commitment on Organizational citizenship behavior among service and manufacturing sector employees. The study has been done on 150 employees of both service and manufacturing sector with the help of questionnaire, where job involvement and organizational commitment were taken as independent variables and Organizational citizenship behavior as dependent variable. Multiple regression was applied with the help of SPSS. The result indicated that there is a significant impact of independent variables on dependent variables, that is, there is a significant impact of Job involvement and Organizational commitment on OCB.

Determinants of Organizational Citizenship Behavior and Its Consequence
Theory and research on Organizational Citizenship Behaviours (OCB) has presumed OCB as a set of desirable behaviours that contributes to the organizational effectiveness. So far OCB has been connoted as one of the antecedents of organizational performance. However, the antecedents of OCB are not thoroughly investigated. This study explores various existing definitions of OCB and then examines the dimensions of OCB. This study will focus on relation between OCB dimension and demographic variable like Gender, Education, Gender, and Designation. These studies also focus on performance of OCB performance in different sectors. How do organizations build an internal capability or processes to implement a service excellence strategy and thereby create sustained competitive advantage? Drawing on an integrated extended self and psychology of ownership framework as well as Bowen and Ostroff's (2004) HR system strength perspective, this study examines processes linking perceived service-oriented highperformance work systems (HPWS) and overall service role performance. Multi-wave data obtained from 530 employees and 53 supervisors in the hospitality industry were used to test our hypotheses. Multilevel structural equation modeling (MSEM) results revealed that higher levels of supervisor customer orientation strengthened the perceived service-oriented HPWS-employee customer orientation relationship leading to job-based psychological ownership. In turn, job-based psychological ownership related to overall service role performance and together with employee customer orientation, sequentially mediated the influence of perceived service-oriented HPWS on overall service role performance. We interpret our findings as providing initial evidence of an alternative motivational pathway through which an HR system influences performance in a frontline service role.

The success of schools fundamentally depends on teachers' willingness to go above and beyond the call of duty, namely, to exhibit organizational citizenship behaviors (OCBs). Attempts to understand the causes of OCB frequently focus on individual characteristics; only recently have researchers begun to direct their attention to more contextual variables. The present study continues this line of research and proposes an integrative model. This allows the authors to examine simultaneously the relative impact of individual characteristics (dispositional variables of positive affectivity, negative affectivity, and teacher attitude) to perceived superior support and an organizational characteristic (of organizational values of individualism versus collectivism) on OCB at school. Method: Data were collected from a survey of 104 teachers and their principals at eight elementary schools in northern Israel. Results: A mixed models analysis demonstrates that perceived supervisor support and collectivism were positively related to OCB, whereas a negative relation was found between negative affectivity and OCB; no relation was found between positive affectivity and OCB. However, when these variables were examined simultaneously, the organizational variable of collectivism proved the most effective predictor of OCB. Implications: The present results should serve to encourage OCB researchers to focus more attention on characteristics of organizational context as related to OCB. Schools are powerful suppliers of norms to their teachers, and exchange relationships that form within schools, as well as collective values, may partly determine the level of OCB in them.
