The aim of this work is to advance and raise some awareness through case studies and research of the work done at the University Institute of Studies on Migrations (Instituto Universitario de Estudios sobre Migraciones - IUEM) of Comillas Pontifical University, of which I am a research associate. First, I will discuss the work done by the first research institute on migrations in Spain: The IUEM. Second, I will show two methods of social investigation: qualitative and quantitative analysis. Third, I will present some examples of projects and case studies conducted by the IUEM which bridge the reality of migration between Africa and Europe. Fourth, I will explain some important elements to develop a genuine Ignatian apostolic leadership in our social work. Fifth, I will show as example some new projects and initiatives of networking from the IUEM at state, continental and global level. Finally, I will present some conclusive notes and some research proposals
