η5-Indenylruthenium(II) hydride complexes: synthesis and protonation reactions (original) (raw)
2003, Inorganica Chimica Acta
Hydride complexes [RuH(h 5 -1,2,3-C 9 R 3 R ? 4 )LL?] (R0/R?0/H, LL?0/dppm (1), dppe (2); L0/L?0/PMe 2 Ph (3); L0/PPh 3 , L?0/ PMe 3 (4), PMe 2 Ph (5), PMePh 2 (6); L0/CO, L?0/P i Pr 3 (7); R0/Me, R?0/H, LL?0/dppm (8); L0/CO, L?0/PPh 3 (9), P i Pr 3 (10); R 0/R?0/Me, L0/CO, L?0/P i Pr 3 (11)) have been prepared by the reaction of complexes [RuX(h 5 -1,2,3-C 9 R 3 R ? 4 )LL?] (X0/Cl, Br) with an excess of NaOMe in methanol (reflux or room temperature). Protonation of the hydride complex [RuH(h 5 -C 9 H 7 )(PPh 3 )L] (L 0/PPh 3 (12), PMe 3 (4)) with HBF 4 ×/OEt 2 in Et 2 O yields the dihydride complexes [RuH 2 (h 5 -C 9 H 7 )(PPh 3 )L][BF 4 ] (L0/PPh 3 (13), PMe 3 ). Crystal structures of [RuH(h 5 -C 9 H 7 )(PPh 3 ) 2 ] (12) and [RuH 2 (h 5 -C 9 H 7 )(PPh 3 ) 2 ][BF 4 ] ×/CH 2 Cl 2 (13) have been determined by X-ray crystallography. #
