Social Web Communication and CRM in the marketing strategies of wine enterprises
Abstract The aim of the paper is to observe and analyse the contributions made by social media in redefining firm-client relations in the wine sector as a support for CRM systems. After a literature review, in order to define the theoretical framework, the research will provide two stages of analysis: - the first step concerns an investigation of buyers aimed at gathering information about their degree of usage of social media for interacting with customers as well as the spread of content and critical issues; - the second step investigates the content and characteristics of Web 2.0 communication for detecting social media best practices in the use of wine blogs and the social networking site Facebook. The originality and managerial usefulness of this paper consists of studying the emerging trends in the use of Web 2.0 tools in the wine sector, identifying the main purchase determinants that lead the choice process of consumers and developing new guidelines for the effective implementation of the instruments observed. This will help companies to better manage the social media communication tools called sCRM applications as well as their related marketing strategies, according to the companies’ mission and goals. Key words: social customer relationship management (sCRM); social media communication; wine sector

Wine web value: web marketing strategies for family businesses
The goal of this research project is to deepen and expand the web marketing strategies used by family businesses (FB) and to identify the role assigned to websites and the online communication strategies implemented through them. In order to examine the content of the information found on the website of selected FBs, an “ad hoc” analysis model was designed and validated with the support of marketing and industry experts through an inspecting focus group (Mich, 2007). The observation of the FB websites showed that family-run Italian wineries use their websites mainly to present information about the business and as a relational tool through edutainment-style activities; FBs yet neglect the potential of e-commerce. Although this path has allowed the traits essential to launch effective online communications for FBs, the small number of businesses surveyed (10) does not permit a theoretical generalisation of the results. Thus, we expect to integrate the information obtained from this preliminary study with in-depth interviews with the digital strategists for the companies examined or by increasing the number of FBs studied. In addition, the results could be compared with those from Italian businesses in the wine industry which are not family run and which meet the selection criteria (turnover, etc.). The study highlights the importance and the attention that FBs, among others, should dedicate to the role of web communication within their communications strategy. It also provides a list of contents to consider when creating a website which should be customised with the brand’s specific details.
Among the various technological trends of today, social media is considered to be a notable riser. People seem to greatly favour the power of interaction and content creation. Companies can, with the use of Web 2.0 technologies, directly ‘speak’ with each and every one among their audience, and customers and/or prospects can even assist in the production process. The possibilities may be endless – however, for many companies these possibilities may seem overwhelming. As more research is carried out in this area, companies may slowly start to perceive it as less threatening and more approachable. The articles in this special issue mainly deal with research on social media and have been chosen from accepted papers presented during the 4th Euromed Conference held in Crete in 2011.
WINE AND WEB MARKETING STRATEGIES: THE CASE STUDY OF ITALIAN SPECIALITY WINERIES
This paper focuses on the web-marketing strategies adopted by the Italian Speciality Wineries (ISWs). The case study concerns a sample of 272 high quality wineries that have been selected to help investigate the level of Internet marketing in use. An analysis of the existing web-sites has been conducted through an adapted 7Cs model. The 7Cs model data analysis has been developed both at a univariate and a multivariate level. The entrepreneurs perception of Internet marketing has been analysed through a specific questionnaire. The results obtained were used in creating a web-marketing strategies map of the ISWs. The strength and weakness factors of the web-marketing models and the expected future developments of these wineries are shown in the paper.
Study on Promoting Wine Brands Online
Risk in Contemporary Economy, 2014
The aim of the present paper is to emphasize the role and importance of social media as a powerful wine promotion instrument. The necessity of approaching this issue is justified by the fact that we live in a Google-centric world and that companies' marketing strategy as well as their content must constantly adapt to the online searching and information gathering behaviour. To this purpose, our research efforts concentrated on examining the top ten wine producers in Romania, pointing out that corporate rigor supports effective web-sites and social media accounts for wine producers. Form the marketing management perspective, the development of a model to assess the web-site and social media accou nt is highly required as it is useful for winemaking companies. From the academic perspective, it aims at identifying the correlation between the behaviour of modern consumer and the social media impact on all aspects of life.
Marketing relations in online advertising

As of October 2021, the most popular social networks in the world by the number of active users (in millions) are Facebook (2,894), YouTube (2,291), WhatsApp (2,000), Instagram (1,393), Facebook Messenger (1,300), Weixin/WeChat (1,251), TikTok (1,000), etc. The Internet as a new business environment differs from traditional economic sectors by a higher level of heterogeneity. Relationship marketing focuses on taking relationships between the company and the consumer from a state of engagement to that of loyalty. Each customer has a personality and his/her relationship with a particular brand becomes the dominant factor influencing his/her decision regarding purchase or service.
Approaches by hotels to the use of the Internet as a relationship marketing tool
Journal of Marketing Practice: Applied Marketing Science, 1999
Offers a study of the current use of the Internet, as a marketing tool, by the hotel industry. Such a study is timely given that the growth rate of the World Wide Web (WWW or the “Web”) is estimated at about 50 per cent per month, with the number of sites doubling every 53 days. Seeks to present an argument for the application of the relationship marketing (RM) model as a framework for the development of hotel Web sites. The authors believe that a successful Web presence depends upon more than just the technology used and the “look and feel” of the site. Hotels need a framework which can bridge the gap between simply connecting to the Web and harnessing its power for competitive advantage.
Achieving Online Relationship Marketing via Tourism
Drawing upon the literature on social network analysis, this research examines how part-time marketers use tourism blogs to conduct relationship marketing with their customers. The findings from an interpretive case study indicate that the network pictures of part-time blog marketers can be categorized into three distinct models: the "fan club," the "compliance," and the "creative outlet" models. Our findings also suggest that different network pictures lead to different network management strategies for blogs. Moreover, providing instrumental support and especially material support by blog marketers play significant roles in aggrandizing this transitivity, which helps to attract more visitors to blog sites. We believe that the innovation and the potential connections derived from the individualistic styles of some bloggers and the hedonic emotional support given to tourism blogs should not be overlooked. Our findings also indicate that more incentives and freedom should be provided to tourism business bloggers in order to prosper in their grassroots use of technology.
