Abstract

This paper presents a predictive decision-feedback equalizar (PDFE) implemented in a lattice structure. The performance and computational complexity of the lattice PDFE is analyzed, evaluated through computer simulation, and compared with other equalizers. It is shown that the lattice PDFE requires about one half as many computations as the conventional lattice DFE when both have the same number of taps.
