Aportaciones Al Conocimiento y Distribución De Los Decápodos y Estomatópodos (Crustacea: Malacostraca) De Las Islas Canarias (original) (raw)
As additional results of marine wildlife checklists carried out within different research projects in Canary Islands, an updated systematic list of the 132 species of decapods and 5 stomatopods observed is provided, all illustrated with specimens fotographed alive. Among the species listed, 11 are new records from the archipelago (9 decapods: Penaeus kerathurus (Forskål, 1775), Pestarella candida (Olivi, 1792), Pisidia longimana (Risso, 1816), Merocryptus boletifer A. Milne-Edwards & Bouvier, 1894, Liocarcinus pusillus (Leach, 1816), Macropipus tuberculatus (Roux, 1830), Xaiva mcleayi (Barnard, 1947), Brachynotus sexdentatus (Risso, 1827) and Pinnotheres pisum (Linnaeus, 1767); 2 stomatopods: Pseudosquilla ciliata (Fabricius, 1787) y Rissoides pallidus (Giesbrecht, 1910)), and several species whose presence in the archipelago was uncertain or which it had few records.
