A first experimental approach to the 15O + α elastic scattering (original) (raw)
A study was conducted to measure the α width (Γ α) of a resonant state in 19 Ne resulting from the 15 O + α elastic scattering in inverse kinematics using a 15 O radioactive beam and He gas target. The measurement indicates that the width of the resonant state is approximately 3.2 ± 1.6 keV, and aligns with the value obtained from its analog state in 19 F, supporting the validity of charge symmetry for α widths. Challenges posed by the experimental setup, including issues with gas targets and beam degradation, were identified, necessitating new data analysis techniques to improve measurement accuracy.
