This systematic review and meta-analysis provide a comprehensive evaluation of the prevalence of HIV among female sex workers in low-income and middle-income countries. It highlights significant regional differences in HIV prevalence rates, with Sub-Saharan Africa showing the highest rates among the studied regions. Despite interventions showing promise in increasing protective behaviors and decreasing transmission, substantial gaps remain in the coverage of HIV prevention programs for female sex workers globally.
