Mental Toughness between U.P. board Cricket and University Cricket Players, A Camparison (original) (raw)
The present study aimed to compare the Mental Toughness abilities between Board and University Cricket Players. A total of hundred (N = 100) male subjects participated; fifty (N = 50) Board cricket players of Uttar Pradesh and fifty (N = 50) University Cricket Players of Banaras Hindu University, were randomly selected for the collection of data. The age of the subjects ranged between 18 to 25 years. Mental Toughness was measured by applying Mental Toughness questionnaire prepared by Dr, Alan Golberg. The "t" test was applied to find out the difference between mean scores of Board and University Cricket Players. The level of significance was set at 0.05. The results revealed significant difference with regard to variable Mental Toughness between Board Cricket Players and University Cricket Players. Board Cricket Players have better Mental Toughness level as compared to their counterpart University Cricket Players. INTRODUCTION Psychology is important as it is concerned with the study of behavior and mental processes and at the same time, it is also applied to many different things in human life. Through psychology, we are able to understand and determine how the mind and body of an individual works.
