Ethnographic Observation On Traditional And Modern Traders Of The Town Of Gyumri: How the term ''trader'' perceived and is explained by the modern traders ? (original) (raw)
In summer 2015 I had ethnographic field works in the town of Gyumri. Interviews were done with the 40 traders, who were working in the sphere of trade in street markets, supermarkets and own markets. The interviewers were 20-50 years old. Within of this abstract in addition to ethnographic field work we tried to use also museums collections and memories of some authors of this period. In addition to fieldworks we also use materials of pre-soviet period of the Caucasus, as during the fieldworks we explored that the perceptions of those traders are connected with the 19th century. For this study we have also used materials found in museums such as documents, archives and photo collections and historical monuments, which connect the study with the reality of the 19th century.
