Voltage Control of Three-Phase Induction Motor for Energy Saving

Energy saving is one of the most applications. In the industries, Induction motors are the mostly preferred due to their reliability, robustness, price and rugged construction. The largest percentage of consumed energy in industrial is consumed by induction motors. So, Energy conservation in induction motor drive results in the reduction in power consumption and the cost of electricity. This paper describes energy saving technique for squirrel cage induction motor. The energy saving is achieved through managing the voltage administered to the stator winding through the use of the three phase AC voltage controller. The simulation verifications are done in MATLAB/Simulink. The results show that the proposed scheme gives rise to the enormous energy-savings. 1.
