Comparison of Function Features Using Modified DTW for Dynamic Signature Verification

2010

Many methods are introduced for estimating the similarities or differences of time signals. One of theses methods, DTW algorithm, is also a utility for other domains including classification, data mining and matching regions between two time signals. DTW algorithm minimizes points distance between two signals by contracting or expanding the time axes to find the corresponding points. In this paper, with modification of the local constraints in DTW, a powerful method is proposed for measuring the global or local similarities between two signals. In addition to increasing the accuracy of signals distance measurements and decreasing the classification error, proposed algorithm is more stable than classic DTW against variations of structure and time signal source. The proposed method for dynamic signature verification was applied to a dataset of signatures from Turkish, Chinese and English people. The results of the experiments based on Fisher, Parzen Window and Support Vectors Machine ...

Use of Shadowing Moments to Statistically Model Mobile Satellite Channels in Urban Environments

IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, 2013

ABSTRACT The performance of mobile satellite networks in built up areas is liable to deterioration since the wireless channel variations significantly affect the link availability over time. Previous statistical models which employ empirical data for estimation of fading parameters, are reliable only for specific environments. In this paper, we incorporate simple physical-statistical characteristics of urban canyons into estimation of shadowing moments which describe the received signal envelope. Our flexible model utilizes analytic fading parameters and accounts for azimuth and elevation angles hence, it facilitates simulation of low earth orbit (LEO) satellite links with good accuracy in areas where channel measurements are not available. Moreover, our novel approach can be effectively used for evaluation of the quality of service (QoS) in terms of bit error outage probability.

کاربرد نشانگرهای ریزماهواره جهت شناسایی و ثبت ارقام پسته

2013

Due to the complex assessment of young walnut cultivars (Juglansregia L.) based on morphological traits, advance molecular tools have provided a new prospect for cultivar identification and DNA fingerprinting. In this study, specific molecular keys were identified for 5 Iranian walnut cultivars (Juglansregia L.) using 30 SSR markers. The results showed that 5 SSR markers produced polymorphic bands for studied Iranian walnut cultivars. SSR markers WP-376andABRII-WM-6produced specific molecular keys in walnut cultivars K72, Z30, Z53 and Z60. Due to different genetic background, it was impossible to recommend the B21 and Z67 genotypes as mother’s trees. The specific molecular keys were verified on 39 walnut mother's trees and the results were confirmed at two independent laboratories. The reported specific molecular keys can be used for identification of 5 Iranian walnut cultivars in juvenile period.

استخدام محددات إنترنت الأشياء للتوجه نحو التعليم الالكتروني بالجامعات السودانية Using Internet of Things Determinants to direct towards e- learning in Sudanese universities

International Journal of research in Educational Sciences. (IJRES), 2021

The current study aimed to identify the importance of the Internet of Things implementation in education, where the Internet of Things is the modern technological application that has captured the entire world by linking different beings with each other without human intervention. The study seeks to help the Ministry of Higher Education in Sudan to reduce the obstacles, difficulties and emergency conditions facing the educational process such as the Coronavirus pandemic, and to know the appropriate alternatives that can help in improving educational outcomes now and in the future. To achieve the goals of the study, a questionnaire was designed and distributed on a random sample consisting of (202) participants, representing the study community from faculty members in Sudanese Universities. The study relied on structural models because of its high validity tools, especially for qualitative data, for this reason, the AMOS statistical package was used. The study dealt with the determinants of the Internet of things represented in electronic platforms, virtual classes, and electronic the effect size was weak reached 42%, which indicates that there are other variables that have a greater impact in the determinants of Internet of things. The study concluded that the Internet of Things provides many methods and tools that help faculty members to achieve valuable benefits for educational outcomes, thus facilitating their work and increasing student benefits. The study recommends conducting more studies and focusing on introducing the beneficiaries of the educational process (students) into the model.
