The intubation depth marker: the confusion of the black line (original) (raw)
This study examines the presence and positioning of intubation depth markers on pediatric tracheal tubes from three different manufacturers. It highlights significant inconsistencies in the availability and location of these markers, which are crucial for optimal tube placement to avoid complications such as accidental extubation or bronchial intubation. The findings indicate that the markers are inconsistently present and vary in relation to tube size, raising concerns about their reliability in clinical practice.
