Study on Biomass potential: A comparative analysis of India and EU leading towards Bio-based economy (original) (raw)

The objective of the present study was to prepare an inventory on biomass and bio waste research and to create a database of existing information within India and have comparative analysis with that of European Union (EU 27). The information was gathered through an intensive consultation of existing databases in Europe and India. The project was funded under FP7 call and with project acronyms SAHYOG (Strengthening Networking on Biomass Research and Biowastes Conversion 􀀀 Biotechnology for Europe India Integration). Data was collected from possible authenticated sources, including several national and state level departments, universities, institutes and several national and state level agencies. The process includes an intensive consultation of existing databases and reports in both countries.
