Tourism is a main strategy for developing region. If a region is naturally beautiful for any reason it is the capital of the region for development. Ampara Coastal Belt is one of the regions that have attractions for tourism industry. This study attempts (1) to know the preference of tourist arrival; (2) to identify the regional developmental causes for preference of tourist arrival; (3) to find the association between preference of tourist arrival and regional developmental activities; (4) to prove the strength of association between preference of tourist arrival and regional developmental activities. This study considered 100 public for getting their opinion about tourism on regional development using convenient sampling method. Questionnaire was designed to collect data. Non-parametric analyses were carried out in this study. Results of the frequency analysis disclosed that 75% of people prefer tourist arrival in Ampara Coastal Belt (ACB). People prefer tourist arrival for regional development activities. Test results revealed that values of Pearson Chi-Square between preference of tourist arrival and regional development activities vary between 22.222 to 77.778 with degrees of freedom of 2 cum Sig. values of 0.000. These values witness that preference of tourist arrival has association with regional development activities. Values of Phi, Cramer's V and Contingency Coefficient for preference of tourist arrival and regional developmental activities vary between 1.000 to 0.471 with Sig. values of 0.000. These values explain that These values witness that preference of tourist arrival has moderate to strongest association with regional development activities such as bridge development, irrigation development, water supply development, housing development, education development, health development, community development, fisheries industry development, agriculture development and livelihood development. This study has implications for policy makers to development tourism industry along Ampara Coastal Belt and Eastern Part of the country.

The analysis of the local population’s attitudes towards the effects of tourism development: a case study of Amasya

In recent years, tourism has become one of the regional development tools because due to its high impact on other sectors, the ability of enhancing employment rates and adaptability to the peculiarities of the region. Sustainable tourism development depends on the regional tourism policies that consider the impact of tourism on the local population and their approach to tourism. Amasya is a city in Turkey with a very rich cultural heritage and 7,500 years long history. In Amasya, tourism comes to everybody's mind when development and growth are mentioned. To that end, significant investments have recently been made in tourism infrastructure and promotion of Amasya. However, the impact of tourism on the local communities and their approaches is not clear. This study is aimed at elaborating the issue of tourism development impact on the local people, the local people's approach to tourism and the regional people's attitudes towards tourists. After the literature research and theoretical background, a questionnaire was applied to a randomly selected sample of 420 individuals. Five-point Likert scale was used and the obtained data was analyzed using the SPSS software. The results are descriptive and inferential statistics. The data was tested with Cronbach's Alpha test for calculating confidence. Principal component analysis (PCA) was applied to determine the data validity.

Tourist potentials in the function of economic development Rasina district

The key priority for the development of tourism in the Rasin district is a realistic base of quality tourist attractions and functionality of natural, anthropogenic and material potentials. The wealth of various combasic tourist potentials, with attractive motives and competitive advantages, represents a base that enables the formation of a selectable tourist product based on mountain, spa, cultural, hunting, and rural tourism. The structuring of the tourist product of the Rasin district should be based on evident requirements and expected modern tendencies and trends of domestic and foreign demand, as well as the necessary establishment and functioning of market-oriented and sustainable economic developments to satisfy various tourist needs. Based on the SWOT analysis and defined criteria, the priorities of the first and second categories of tourism development were determined by the available tourist resources and advantages of the Rasin districts. Identifying and defining tourism development priorities is of great practical importance from the point of view of assessing real potential opportunities and the direction of the district's economic development policy to achieve coordinated development.

Tourism is an industry which has enormous economic impacts. It is also an industry that has many social and cultural impacts as well. Moreover, development of Tourism within a host community often has different impact, these impacts have been discussed both in positive and negative way. The main aim of the present paper is to development the tourism industry in a host community by maximizing positive impacts and minimizing potential negative impacts.

On the Effects of Tourism Development on Rural Areas (A Case Study of Giayn District, Nahvand County)

Tourism plays a significant role in the development of the society at different levels and is seen as an important source of employment and income especially in rural areas. Considering its different potential impacts, the present study aims to explore the effects of tourism development on the rural area of Giyan district. The target population comprised the residents of rural areas in the vicinity of Giyan tourism district (N=7500). Using the Cochran’s formula, the sample size was estimated to be 285, and a completely random sampling method was applied for data collection. A self-administered questionnaire was used as research instrument whose face validity was confirmed by a panel of experts. In order to estimate the reliability of the questionnaire, a Cronbach’s alpha was used for the pre-test.
