Surveillance for Avian Influenza Viruses in Wild Birds in Denmark and Greenland, 2007–10 (original) (raw)

Surveillance for avian influenza viruses in wild birds in Denmark and Greenland from 2007 to 2010 involved both passive and active monitoring methods, resulting in the testing of over 14,600 birds. Denmark showed a presence of low pathogenic H5 viruses and occasional LPAI H7 subtypes, indicating a risk to poultry, while Greenland's findings revealed minimal positivity for avian influenza, with no H5 or H7 detections. This study highlights the ecological risks of virus transmission between North America and Europe via migratory birds.
