This article is a faunistic review of Trombidia (= Parasitengona terrestria) mites found in the water-forest nature reserve "Łężczok" (Silesia, S Poland). Twelve species represented by active postlarval stages of three families: Erythraeidae (8), Trombidiidae (1) and Microtrombidiidae (3) have been recorded. Except for Abrolophus strojnyi Gabryś, 1992,
Experimental and Applied Acarology
Cases of co-invasion of various chigger species parasitizing murids and cricetids in various habitats were analysed using morphological and molecular approaches. Here we provide evidence for 25 new cases of co-parasitism of chigger mites on rodent hosts (Myodes glareolus, Apodemus flavicollis, Apodemus agrarius) accounting for 8.6% of all host-parasite associations observed in this study. The results confirm higher incidence of co-parasitism in vertebrate-associated Parasitengona mites compared to arthropod-associated ones. Among factors influencing the occurrence of co-parasitism in Trombiculidae the body constitution and year-round availability of hosts associated with lower host specificity of larvae should be considered.
Chigger mites (Acariformes: Trombiculidae) of Iran
Zootaxa
Chigger mites of Iran have been revised based on examination of type materials in the collection of Zoological Museum of Moscow University and reference data. Hitherto, 85 species of trombiculids were recorded in Iran; synonymy, diagnoses, data on depositories of type specimens, lists of hosts and collection localities are given for each species. Original measurements of holotypes or paratypes are provided for 46 species. Four new combinations are proposed: Ornithogastia merops (Vercammen-Grandjean, Rohde and Mesghali, 1970) comb. nov., transferred from Guntherana; O. oenanthe (Vercammen-Grandjean, Rohde and Mesghali, 1970) comb. nov., transferred from Guntherana; Microtrombicula galerida (Vercammen-Grandjean, Rohde and Mesghali, 1970), comb. nov., transferred from Eltonella; and M. meriones (Vercammen-Grandjean, Rohde and Mesghali, 1970), comb. nov., transferred from Eltonella. Comparison of our measurements of holotypes with those given in the original species descriptions publish...

One new species of larval Trombidium Fabricius, 1775, T. montenegrinum sp. nov. collected off-host on grasses, is described and illustrated. Descriptions of T. botovicum and T. daunum are corrected. A key to world species of larval Trombidium is presented. Using published records and original data, a checklist was compiled of the terrestrial parasitengone mites of Montenegro. The total number of species recorded from Montenegro up to date is 51 species, in 25 genera and 7 families. Additionally, first records for Montenegro are given for
Contributions to the fauna of chigger mites (Acariformes: Trombiculidae) of Iran
Zootaxa, 2020
Chigger mites of northern Iran were studied on the basis of field collections from rodent hosts. Thirty-five species were recorded. Two new species, Cheladonta afshari Stekolnikov and Shamsi sp. nov., collected on Apodemus sp. in Guilan and Mazandaran Provinces, and Neotrombicula tehranensis Stekolnikov and Shamsi sp. nov., collected on Cricetulus migratorius and Chionomys sp. in Tehran Province, are described. One new synonym is established: Neotrombicula vernalis (Willmann, 1942) (= Neotrombicula kermani Kudryashova, 1977 syn. nov.). Seventeen species were recorded in Iran for the first time; thus, the number of known Iranian chiggers constitutes 104. The record of Neotrombicula autumnalis (Shaw, 1790) in Iran is important from the veterinarian and medical points of view, as this species attacks humans and domestic animals.
A new subgenus and species of the chigger mite genus Neotrombicula (Acari: Trombiculidae)
1999
A new subgenus, Iranotrombicula n. subgen., is established within the chigger mite genus Neotrombicula. One new species, Neotrombicula {Iranotrombicula) lazistanica n. sp., is described from rodents collected in NE Turkey.
