Marine Fisheries : Journal of Marine Fisheries Technology and Management, 2023
resources are used by fishers around the area, especially in zones that are permitted for fishing activities. However, there are indications that the use of the area by fishers causes a decrease in the abundance and biomass of reef fish in TWP Gita Nada. Therefore, it is necessary to research the condition of reef fish stocks in TWP Gita Nada to know for certain about the availability of reef fish resources in the area. This study collected data at 11 fish landing sites around TWP Gita Nada from March 2017 to December 2021. Data were collected using a sampling technique on 35% of the total fish landing activity in TWP Gita Nada. Data consisted of fishing units, fishing operations, fishing areas, catches, fish species, and fish length. Data analysis in this study used a length-based stock assessment approach to identify the condition of reef fish stocks and their utilization status. The results indicated that 271 species of reef fish landed in the TWP Gita Nada waters conservation area were identified from 31 family groups dominated by fish of the species Lutjanus gibbus, Lethrinus ornatus, Acanthurus mata, Naso thynnoides, and Lethrinus rubrioperculatus. Among those four dominant reef fish species, Lutjanus gibbus is in fully exploited utilization status with an SPR value of 0.26 or 26%. Meanwhile, the other three types of reef fish are under-exploited with SPR values above 0.3 or 30%.

Research was conducted at 4 point dive sites in TWA Batuangus and 1 tourist sites as a comparison site to see the condition of coral reef ecosystems that include coral cover and reef fish communities' information. Live coral cover obtained generally show in moderate category (25 to 49.9%). Coral genus recorded in 33 transects genus were 27 genera of hard corals and 6 genus of soft corals. Reef fish recorded consists of 195 species of reef fish and 37 families. Locations in the TWA Batuangus which have relatively good conditions, is Batu Beach location where had higher abundance and biomass compared to other locations. Magic Rock seen better than that of TWA Batuangus, based from the condition of coral and targeted fish. This is most likely because the location of TWA Batuangus is the fishing area for the surrounding communities while Magic Rock is became one of the important diving spot in the Lembeh Strait. Reef fish community structure based on ecological indices are in unstable condition (H' were in low to moderate, E were depressed until labile and C were low). The similarity of reef fish species grouping Hall Batuangus separated with other sites because of the characteristics of the location in the form of semi-enclosed bays where the circulation of currents which do not enter into the bay which makes limiting the distribution of coral and fish.

Bunaken National Park is a conservation development area designated by the government and is located in North Sulawesi Province. One of the conservation partnership areas of Bunaken National Park is located in Popareng Village, Tatapaan District, South Minahasa Regency. Bunaken National Park (TNB) has a diversity of marine life, one of which is coral fish that live in association with coral reefs. However, the condition of many coral reefs has been damaged so that the reef fish that live in the area are much reduced. Threats from community activities that are difficult to monitor are the cause because the location on the South Coast of TNB is far away or difficult to monitor. This study aims to examine the density of reef fish in the waters of Popareng Village, South Minahasa, North Sulawesi. The method used is the Underwater Visual Census (UVC), with data collection techniques using a camera for video and photos of reef fish. This research was conducted in 3 different locations, namely Karang Tinggi, Laikit, and Tanjung Ringgi. The results obtained 22 families, 83 species, 1961 individuals. The highest density of reef fish was at the Laikit location, which was 15,260 Ind/Ha and the dominant family at the three observation sites was Pomacentridae.

Jurnal Terubuk, 2012
Coral reef ecosystems is one of the major coastal and marine ecosystems that have ecological value, economic and aesthetic. Unfortunately, the ecosystem continues to come under pressure from a variety of activities such as fishing, tourism, pollution and other activities. This study aims to determine the condition of coral reef ecosystems in the Regional Marine Protected Area (RMPA) East Bintan. Observations of coral reefs is done using a modification of the square transect method and condition of coral reefs can be estimated by the percentage of live coral cover approach. While the analysis of water quality refers to the APHA. To see the linkages between the biophysical environment-chemical characteristics of water with each of the locations used multivariable statistical analysis approach to PCA (Principal Component Analysis). The results show that coral reefs in the Marine Protected Area Region East Bintan including the condition of 'being' to 'good'. This condition is caused by the pressure of population activities in the past such as sea sand mining, leaching of bauxite tailings disposal, tailings sand mining land, and the impact of destructive fishing continues until the time research was conducted. Meanwhile, the measured water quality is below the sea water quality standard for marine life. Further analysis of the factors in marine environment conditions with live coral cover showed that the live coral cover was negatively correlated with most variable environmental parameters such as flow velocity, salinity, TSS, DO, BOD5, nitrate, sediment and algae. except for temperature, brightness, and depth and phosphate positively correlated.
