Although there is no complete certainty about the exact meaning in the Paisius's concept, it becomes clear the translations of the notion of guilt through by using "unhappiness", "disinterestedness", "state" are related to the systematic freeing from guilt rhetoric, which-generally-in certain decades is underlined as a nationalistic, yet in others it is not. The ideological readings of the notion of guilt take part in the plot of victimization of the people as it turned out to be a keystone in the national-utopian narrative of "slavery".

THE LAST GREEKS IN ZEMUN IN THE WORKS OF ISIDORA SEKULIĆ, 2020

MavrogeniSummaryThis paper analyzes the last chapter of Isidora Sekulić work, Chronicle of a Small- Town Graveyardin the light of the relations among the communities which constituted the population of Zemun from the 18th, until the beginning of the 20th century. It focuses on the Greek-Serbian relations. The first part of the article reflects upon the history and culture of the emigrant communities in general which lived in Zemun at the time and specifically on the Greek situation, covering many aspects of life from the larger historical picture, the political tensions between the Austro-Hungarian and the Ottoman Empire, to the economic issues, to the education of children and religious holidays. The paper further discusses the description of the Greek community created by Isidora Sekulić in the Chronicle of the Small-Town Graveyard. The aim of this paper is to sum up the points that Sekulić makes in her work about the closeness and misunderstanding between the two communities, Greeks and Serbs and to suggest the possible outcomes that the mutual historical and cultural circumstances left on the further development of the respective communities.

Константин Петкович и българското езикознание / Konstantin Petkovich and Bulgarian Linguistics

2020

The article explores the contributions to linguistics made by Konstantin Petkovich (1824–1898), the first university-educated Bulgarian philologist, a graduate of St. Petersburg University, and offers a review of his lexicographical works, the most significant of them being his unfinished Bulgarian-Russian Dictionary, which remained un-published by him. The study focuses on Konstantin Petkovich’s views on the Bulgarian language as reflected in the translator’s notes to his 1852 Russian translation of Franc Miklosič’s work Lautlehre der Bulgarischen Sprache. In his notes, Petkovich sketched the main features of the classification of the Bulgarian dialects, outlined the Bulgarian linguistic territory and provided comparisons between Bulgarian grammatical forms and forms in Modern Greek and Romanian. He was, thus, the second linguist after Jernej Kopitar to compare forms in neighbouring Balkan languages. Keywords: Konstantin Petkovich, Bulgarian National Revival, classification of Bulg...

Мимесис и рефлексия: огледалата в българското литературознание | Mimesis and Reflection: Mirrors in Bulgarian Literary Studies

"Мимесис и рефлексия: огледалата в българското литературознание", - Надмощие и приспособяване : Сборник доклади от Международната конференция на факултета по славянски филологии 24-25 април 2017г. : Т. 1-. състав. и ред. Диана Атанасова, Мария Калинова, Надежда Александрова, Красимира Алексова, Румяна Л. Станчева, и др.Т. 1. Литературоведски четения в чест на 80-годишнината на професор Никола Георгиев, София: Университетско издателство, 2018, 362-374. The paper focuses on the mirror as a metaphor in the Bulgarian literary studies by means of which contradictory concepts of literature in terms of its mimetic activity crystallize. The term mimetic reflection was in circulation in the Soviet Union at that time as one of the key concepts of the dogmatic Marxist-Leninist aesthetics and especially of Todor Pavlov’s theory of reflection, in which literature is seen as a realistic reflection of reality. A detachment of reflection theory can be traced in the works of Nikola Georgiev. In his theoretical works the mirror functions as a metaphor for the intertextuality and self-reflexivity as the ability of the literature to refer to its own techniques, its own process of creation and its own fictional status. In such direction is read the mirror metaphor in the works of Kleo Protohristova and Miglena Nikolchina.
