This research explores the emergence of the "geopolitical imagination" in early 20th century Europe, particularly within German political discourse. It argues that the period marked a significant "spatial turn", influenced by globalization, technological advancements, and migration, which together reshaped both academic and popular perceptions of space and politics. The investigation focuses on key texts from periodicals like "Die Tat" and "Zeitschrift für Politik", revealing a transformation in the understanding of the nation-state towards a concept of a dynamic, expanding political unit that supports imperial politics. The study highlights the influential role of geopolitics in legitimizing new political languages and ideas, significantly altering the landscape of political and historical thought.
