Entrepreneurship is people or communities that create a business in the face of risk or uncertainty to achieve profit and growth by identifying the significant opportunities by capitalizing on their resources. In contrast, indigenous entrepreneurship is business endeavors set up by the indigenous people or communities to improve their economic livelihood. Indigenous tribe of peninsular Malaysia has always been stigmatized by poverty and through this strategy of developing entrepreneurship through the abundance of natural resources that the community has for economic household income independence. An Exploratory and qualitative research method was used through insitu observation that was undertaken to determine the success factors of these indigenous individuals for other communities' leaders and indigenous stakeholders. Through this research, it is found that Semai of Batang Padang indigenous communities can produce two percent of successful entrepreneurs that could economically lead the community household development in the near future
Intention towards Business Start-Up among Orang Asli in Peninsular Malaysia

Understanding intention is indispensable because it provides an interpretive matrix for precisely deciding an individual action. In business start-up setting, theorist describes an intention as the cognitive representation of a person's readiness to perform a given behaviour. The purpose of this study is to examine the intention of Orang Asli toward business start-up and their needs in supporting them to start-up business. This paper employs qualitative data that come from focus group interviews with 20 female Orang Asli Semai in Perak State. The findings of this study showed majority of respondents have intention toward business start-up. However, the respondents need some sort of financial and non-financial support to start their business. The case study brings attention to the importance of the intention and entrepreneurship support in order to empower Orang Asli and involve in entrepreneurship activities.
Understanding the Factors That Inhibit the Success of Indigenous Entrepreneurs in Malaysia

This study aims to identify the factors that inhibit the success of indigenous entrepreneurs. The instrument in this quantitative study was a questionnaire that consisted of 54 items with Likert Scale 5. The respondents of this study were 377 indigenous youth entrepreneurs, who were selected by random sampling. Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) program version 21 used to analyze data based on frequency, percentage, and linear regression. The results show that there are nine (9) main factors that inhibit the success of indigenous entrepreneurs in Malaysia. Factors that inhibit indigenous from becoming successful entrepreneurs include being lacking financial capital, experience, knowledge in information technology and business strategy, entrepreneurial information, management skills, networking skills, difficulty in finding skilled workers, and complicated financial loan bureaucracy. Entrepreneurship education: Orang Asli and learning experience

Understanding entrepreneurship concept is indispensable in formal education system to support entrepreneurship education especially in school and higher education institutions. However, the need to understand entrepreneurship concept is essential and important as every individual has the potential to be an entrepreneurs. This study aims to assess the understanding of entrepreneurship concept among Orang Asli after playing a game; and to remark the emotional connotation after playing the game. This paper employed qualitative method in the form of observation and interview with 20 Orang Asli Semai in Perak state. The findings indicated that most participants showed basic understanding of entrepreneurship and developed positive connotation while playing the game. The study drew attention to the importance of learning through playing in non-formal learning especially among the Orang Asli community.
Entrepreneurship Workshop in Kampung Nelayan’s Community, Medan Belawan District

Approximately 600 families inhabit the Kampung Nelayan of Medan Belawan District; most of them work as fishermen. The people of Kampung Nelayan have limited facilities and relatively low knowledge of entrepreneurship which caused an inability to maximize the potential of marine natural resources and mangrove forest resources. Entrepreneurship workshop activities are carried out to equip the public to have a good knowledge of entrepreneurship, which is expected to generate and increase the spirit of entrepreneurship in utilizing and managing the potential of natural resources into high selling value products. The activities were carried out using a quasi-experimental one-group pretest-posttest approach. The results of the pretest and post-test were used to measure changes in participants knowledge. Toward building the entrepreneurship capacity, enhance economic performance and reduce inequalities among the indigenous group, many governments has often provided various resources for them. The government initiatives through the financial and non-financial support manifestly improve in number of indigenous entrepreneurs. However, to what extent the government support exerting huge influence on Malaysian Orang Asli entrepreneurs to the path of mainstream businesses was not holistically investigated.
