The joint bicentenary commemorations of the beginning of the independence movements in Latin America evolved out of the Ibero-American Conference as the foundation of the Grupo Bicentenario shows. However it is not the first commemoration cycle that involves the once colonial power Spain and its former Latin American colonies. Some 20 years ago this group of countries commemorated the quincentenary of the so-called discovery of America. The interpretation of the results obtained in a comparative study of Spanish, Mexican and Venezuelan legislation on the politics of memory, applied in the context of the mentioned commemorations, will propose answers to the following questions: What are the orders, power relations and discourses that dominate the politics of memory in the Ibero- American Community? What are the transformations between the quincentenary and the bicentenaries?

Thus, this work intends to indicate such places in Juiz de Fora, Minas Gerais, protagonist of the 1964 coup to democracy, not only because General Mourão Filho's troops were stationed there a materialization of what was already planned in the barracks; but because it was the headquarters of the Military Region, where its audit collected hearings from witnesses and organized trials, and civilian and military facilities were used as spaces for torture and serving sentences. Methodology: Through concepts such as "dark heritage" and "places of sensitive memory", we will try to demonstrate how silencing is preponderant in local public policies, whether in the non-identification of these places, or in the listing processes that privilege aesthetic and stylistic aspects to the detriment of memories of the dictatorship. Originality: Since the places discussed in this article are not object of public policies in favour of collective memory, this work will indicate buildings that were places of State violence and generally go unnoticed in the city's landscape. Conclusions: The erasure of the dictatorial past in Juiz de Fora, and in Brazil in general, is a strategy of covering up responsibilities.

Commemorative events are more than mere remember
In this essay I will prove commemorative events are not only means remember but also with huge significance. First of all, there were two examples of daily activities will be described. They are birthdays and Anniversaries, they are not only memories, but also plans and visions for the future. Commemorative events give great significance to the individual. Then this essay will though be describing the events that were born in history these are V-Day and National Day, we can also find that people will look forward to the future through the commemorative events, and they will get more planning through reflection, and also emphasize the sense of national identity and national cohesion, they show that there are some collective meanings to be found in commemorative events. Through individual and collective events and meanings, it is fully proved that although remember is important in commemorative events, but there are also other significant meanings in commemorative events, not just memories.
