Social Conservation of Local Wisdom on Samin Tribes at Kudus Regency Indonesia

Social conservation values are very important to be maintained and preserved. Social conservation values are the source of Indonesians character. Social conservation values comes from the values of local wisdom that exist in each ethnic, and Indonesian community, one of them is the Samin Tribe. This study aims to find the local wisdom values of the Samin community that are threatened with extinction due to modernization. This study uses a qualitative method, with the process of collecting data carried out through interviews with local leaders of the Samin community in Kudus Regency. Interviews were conducted to explore hereditary social activities about beliefs, traditions, social interactions and livelihoods. The results showed that the Samin Community conserved social values in the form of teachings that must be abandoned and teachings that should be done. Development in various sectors of life will certainly have a major impact on society, both positive and negative. One of the negative impacts of modern development is the erosion of the values of the local wisdom of the community, including the values of local wisdom of Sahu people contained in their traditional house called Sasadu. The purpose of this research was to find out the philosophical values contained in Sasadu traditional houses and write them as part of the preservation of the values of community wisdom which would later be useful as a development filter. Cultivating Local Wisdom in Character Education: Lessons from Family Education Values of Indonesian Traditional Ceremony, 2018

The tradition of establishing a house in Tanjung Pauh, Kerinci contains noble educational values such as deliberation, mutual cooperation , togetherness, knowing and helping each other, monotheism , recalling kindness, and courtesy. Those values are aligned with the concept of character education proposed by Thomas Lickona. The values can be implemented into family education especially in rural communities of Tanjung Pauh, Kerinci. The character values in harvesting rice carried out by the community teach civilized attitude towards plants and sharing with others. Besides, the community also has principles of respect, attention, respect, and compliance with customs regulations. The ceremony is performed based on custom and religious teachings with the intention to reject any disasters experienced by human beings, plants, and animals. Besides, the ceremony performed contains meanings of gratitude to God Almighty in order to reduce the punishment of the grave space, especially for parents who died and owned rice fields. For those who are still alive, these activities are carried out with the hope that everything done runs well, gains healthy bodies and longevity.

Study of Stages and Ethnolinguistics of Tu'a Eja Culture of Keo Ethnic, Nagekeo Tribe, Flores, East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia in Efforts of Local Cultural Wisdom Preservation

Traditional marriage in Keo ethnic language are called tu'a eja. Tu'a eja procession with complete stages is form of respect for women who still maintain their chastity. This implies that tu'a eja teaches values and norms that regulates social interactions of younger generation. This is interesting to review, but data on stages and vocabulary meaning in tu'a eja process have not been found. This study aimed to determine the stages and vocabulary meanings of the process of tu'a eja. Type of this research was qualitative research used interview, observation and documentation used interactive analysis model Miles and Huberman. The results showed that there were 8 stages of traditional process of tu'a eja, namely: asking (pai holo wini or tana ale), engagement (peu lako yongo), family gathering (tiwo ine weta ne'e ane ana), delivery of belis (tu ngawu), giving mat and pillow (ti'i te'e pati lani), moving house (nuka sa'o), family separation (wola ine weta ane ana) and returning to visit origin place (lalo la'e). This research examines the cultural values in the Sariga tradition from Muna in Indonesia. Muna is one of the tribes in Southeast Sulawesi, Indonesia. Muna is rich in regional culture and upholds customs in the process of life in society. Education in the Muna community is not only focused at school. The local wisdom of the Javanese community needs to be maintained and developed. This is an effort to keep upholding the values of local wisdom in the millennial generation. The form of Javanese local wisdom can be material and nonmaterial culture. Material leads to real community creations such as culinary, clothing, houses, traditional ceremonies, and others. Where as nonmaterial refers to folklore, traditional games, perfoming art, and others. In addition, many traditional ceremonies also contain the value of character education that can be applied in daily life. From of this study is descriptive qualitative which source of data are grebeg saparan traditional ceremony. Data collected using in-depth interview and observation to support data analysis. In this study aims to explain how the process of implementing Grebeg Saparan in Cukilan Village are form of preserving Javanese local wisdom and what value of character education are contained in the traditional ceremony. The Grebeg Saparan was held on Friday Wage in Safar month with great fanfare. The character education contained in Grebeg Saparan are religious value, tolerance value, hard work value, creative value, friendly/ communicative value, envireonmental care value, social caring value, and responsibility value.

Reconstruction of Mebuug-Buugan Tradition as Revitalization of Local Wisdom in Kedonganan Traditional Village, Kuta District, Badung Regency

This article aims to explore as well as explain the causes and implications of the reconstruction of the Mabuug-Buugan tradition in the Kedonganan Traditional Village. Mebuug –Buugan is one of the important traditions in the celebration of Nyepi which is owned by the Kedonganan Indigenous people. But over time, this tradition has not been implemented for approximately 60 years, based on information, the last Mabuug-Buugan was carried out in 1965. In that period until 2012, the stories and practices of Mabuug-Buugan were almost inaudible, especially when they were practiced. Learning Local Wisdom for Character Education: an Insight from Choblong Sundanese Village in Indonesia

The purpose of this study is to describe the various local wisdom and describe the diverse character education, which contain in local wisdom in the Sundanese society of Choblong, Cisarua village located in Bogor, West Java, Indonesia. Observation method is the best way to collect information and understand local culture in a society. The local wisdom of these Choblong villagers is believed to have a useful contribution to the values of character education that must always be taught and preserved for the benefit of subsequent regeneration. The local wisdom of the Choblong village can be penetrated to school curriculum for preparing their next generations and the cultural preservation. Although there are many adjustments required when immersion between local culture and school curriculum, but it is possible if the applications of carefully selected local culture are given in their local environmental settings.

This research is motivated by the curiosity about the indigenous traditions of Ngabungbang in Kampung Adat Kasepuhan Ciptagelar, Sukabumi Regency, held every 14th of Mulud, the month of the Prophet Muhammad’s birth. Sundanese Ciptagelar people have the view that the 14th night of the month Mulud has special privileges. Therefore, the residents of the community of Ciptagelar always use the night to seek blessings, especially for the supernatural Seekers (kanuragan). Folklore is one of cultures which develops in an area. The existence of folklore nowadays almost comes to an extinction because it is not kept and preserved. As the consequence, the society is lack of awareness in applying the local wisdom contained in the folklore into their daily life. This research was conducted as the form of effort to make the society has view or positive thought. Beside that, it is also as the learning by applying the value of local wisdom, and the value of character education in it. This research aims to describe the value of local wisdom and the value of character education in folklore as one of alternative media and can be used as the guideline in the society. The form of this research was qualitative by using etnography research strategy. Data were obtained through interview and observation.
