UV cross-linking of the globular domain of histone H1 with DNA in deoxyribonucleoprotein

Abstract

UV-irradiated DNP was digested by trypsin to cleave histones, and a crosslinked DNA-peptide complex was isolated. The globular domain of histone HI was found to be linked to DNA. The resistance of the globule to trypsinolysis is discussed with regard to chromatin structure.
