Comportamento do gramado submetido aos herbicidas clethodim e sethoxydim (original) (raw)
2007, Revista Brasileira de Horticultura Ornamental
The main factor of tufgrass maintenance cost is the cut in the appropriate height. Turfgrass vegetative and reproductive growth formed with Paspalum notatum Flügge, submitted to clethodim and sethoxydim doses was evaluated in two experiments conducted at Escola Superior de Agronomia de Paraguaçu Paulista, urban campus, at Paraguaçu Paulista Municipal District, São Paulo State, in area with turfgrass already established. Randomized complete blocks experimental design was used with six treatments and four repetitions, represented by clethodim in 0,0000; 0,0037; 0,0075; 0,0150; 0,0300 and 0,0600 kg i.a. ha-1 subdoses, as well as for sethoxydim in 0,0000; 0,0156; 0,0312; 0,0625; 0,1250 and 0,2500 kg i.a. ha-1 subdoses. Clethodim and sethoxydim, to 7 DAA, caused intoxication to the plants starting from 0,0300 and 0,1250 kg ha-1 doses, respectively. Intoxication symptoms, to 49 DAA, practically disappeared for all of the treatments. Chlorophyll content in the leaves did not show significant differences between clethodim and sethoxydim subdoses in relation to the check, in none of the periods analyzed. There was progressive reduction of medium height and in the number of turfgrass inflorescences in function of clethodim and sethoxydim doses increment. These herbicides presented viability in vegetative and reproductive reduction of P. notatum, being sethoxydim the most selective one in relation to the preservation of turfgrass visual characteristics.
