Effect of Transformational Leadership and its Components on Organizational Innovation
This study tries to expand the understanding of the relationship between transformational leadership and organizational innovation at the organizational level. This research proposes a conceptual framework to explain the components of transformational leadership while focusing on the relationship between each component and organizational innovation. A sample of 219 managers from 63 companies in the top 100 Iranian companies participated in this research. The results of this study support the expected positive relationship between transformational leadership and organizational innovation. Further findings revealed that among five components of transformational leadership (i.e., idealized influence, attributive charisma, inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation, and individualized consideration) not all but some of the components (including attributive charisma, inspirational motivation, and intellectual stimulation) are positively related to organizational innovation.

The interest is growing in the influence of transformational leadership on creativity at the organizational level. Transformational leaders increase the performance expectations and creativity levels of their followers. Recent studies showed that leaders' behaviors have important effects on creativity level of the employees. Creativity is consisted of three levels as individual, group and organizational creativity. Transformational leaders have effects on the creativity of the subordinates. Moreover, organizational climate can be important variable for the individual creativity in organizations. In this study, we assumed that the relationship between transformational leadership and followers' creativity moderated by organizational climate. The main purpose of this study is to examine the moderating role of organizational climate on the effect of transformational leadership on creativity. The survey is conducted on 178 employees in Istanbul, Turkey. As a result, there are significant moderating effects of cohesion climate dimension on the relationship between transformational leadership and followers' creativity. In addition pressure factor of the organizational climate has a significant negative moderating effect on this relationship.
How and when doesCritical review and future directions
Purpose -The present research attempts to review literature on the effects of transformational leadership on organizational creativity and innovation. It is well recognized that organizational creativity and innovation are crucial for an organization and even for the whole society. Transformational leadership exerts great impact on organizational creativity and innovation. With the increase of empirical studies, relevant variables and research findings are from all kinds of perspectives. The purpose of this paper is to sort relevant works out, incorporate them into an overarching framework and suggest a few future directions which are both critical and viable, so that future researchers may easily find the "gap" and fit their prospective works properly. Design/methodology/approach -The research is conducted by first perusing recent and major papers on the subject which have been published on high quality journals. The paper sorts out pivotal mediators and moderators, and sheds light on the their effects. Findings -Although the conclusions drawn from different studies are somewhat inconsistent, most scholars found a positive relationship between transformational leadership and organizational creativity and innovation. Transformational leadership can influence organizational creativity and innovation both directly and indirectly. The bulk of this paper is about the indirect effects of transformational leadership. The mediators and moderators are from different levels including individual, team and organizational level. In addition, some contextual variables are also included. Originality/value -The paper is the first to review the literature by focusing on the effects of transformational leadership on organizational creativity and innovation. It incorporates various factors into a whole framework which covers three levels and includes internal and external contexts. It makes the relevant findings clear, points out the strengths and weaknesses of the extant literature. It also brings forward future research directions which can be a valuable reference for other researchers.
The Effects of Transformational Leadership towards Teachers Innovative Behavior in Schools
Transformational leadership style is an effective and widely practiced within the organization including in schools. Transformational leadership is reported to have a big influenced on the behavior of individuals within the organization. This study was aimed to identify the effect of transformational leadership of principals towards teachers innovativebehavior in the school. This is a cross-sectional survey involving 346 secondary school teachers in Kedah (Peninsular Malaysia). The instrument used was the Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire (MLQ) and Innovative Behavior Instrument (IBI). The results of the study hadshownthat transformational leadership principalshad affected teachers innovative behaviors. This study also found that the effect of transformational leadership had contributed to innovative teachers behaviors. Therefore, transformational leadership should be practiced by all school leaders to improve the behavior of innovative teachers, megalithic thus improving school performance.
A Double-edged Sword: Transformational Leadership and Individual Creativity
Leadership research has focused on the positive effects of transformational and charis-matic leadership but has neglected the negative side effects. Addressing this gap, we analysed followers' dependency on the leader as a relevant negative side effect in the relationship between transformational leadership and followers' creativity and developed an integrative framework on parallel positive and negative effects of transformational leadership. As expected, results from a study with 416 R&D employees showed that transformational leadership promotes followers' creativity but at the same time increases followers' dependency which in turn reduces their creativity. This negative indirect effect attenuates the positive influence of transformational leadership on followers' creativity.
Transformational leadership and organizational innovation: Moderated by organizational size

The present study was aimed to explore the moderating role of organizational size in the relationship between transformational leadership and organizational innovation. The study also examined the impact of transformational leadership on organizational innovation. A purposive sample of 296 managers from the telecommunication sector of Pakistan participated in the study. The age range of managers was from 25 to 60 years with mean age of 42.5, (SD = 11.27) years. Hierarchical regression models demonstrated organizational size significantly moderating the relationship between transformational leadership. The results further revealed that organizational size significantly moderated the relationship between all facets of transformational leadership (Attributed Charisma, Inspirational Motivation, Intellectual Stimulation and Individualized Consideration) and organizational innovation except idealized influence. The results also exhibit positive and significant impact of transformational leadership on organizational innovation.
Managerial Creativity and Innovation: A Panacea for Organizational Change and Development
Managers who want to make their marks in the ‘album of successful managerial genius’ have to blend the status quo, convention and rule-of thumb with their creative and innovative ideas. The success stories of many managers particularly, in multinational organizations are partly due to the application of key managerial ingredients of creativity and innovation. Many organizations have collapsed due to lack of creative and innovative ideas on the part of the managers. Others have also made giant strides due to the creative and innovative ideas of the managers. Hence creativity and innovation are important and inseparable concepts that can change the fortunes of both managers and business organizations.

Purpose of the study-This research aims to provide a deeper understanding of the extent that transformational leadership can affect the organization to be innovative. To understand this relationship, three propositions will be developed through literature survey. This paper will further examine whether culture, followers' creativity or organizational learning have any influence on this relationship. Design / methodology / approach-To propose a conceptual model, this research provides an overview of literature on transformational leadership and organizational innovation. This review of literature develops propositions that relate transformational leadership with the organizational innovation through three factors: culture, followers' creativity and organizational learning.
