Background: The Solid tumors is one of the problem facing early childhood and the common types of solid tumors are (Lymphomas, Nephroblastoma (Wilm's Tumors), Neuroblastoma, Retinoblastoma, Bone Tumors, Ewing's Sarcoma Family of Tumors and Soft Tissue Sarcom), and it is abnormal mass of tissue that usually does not contain cysts or liquid areas. Benign solid tumors may be (non-cancerous) or malignant (cancerous). It is named different types of solid tumors to the type of cells that make up. Objectives: To assess nurse's knowledge and practices towards children with solid tumors malignancy hospitalized in Baghdad Pediatric Hospitals. Research Methodology: descriptive study dealt with object-analytical sample randomly from the 40 nurses working in the hospitals of Baghdad oncologic ward of solid tumors. The questionnaire was designed to gather information. Data was goatherd by questionnaire format involved multiple choice item test for the purpose of evaluation nurses knowledge and practices for the period (18th October/ 2015 to 10th July/ 2016). Data was analyzed by applying descriptive statistics (frequency and percentage) and deductive statistics (Chi-Square test) SPSS version (20). Results: The study has shown that female participants in the study sample more than males, and the percentage (57.5%) and over the sample aged more than 34 years, and the proportion (37.5%). And most of sample members are graduates of the institutes, and the proportion (52.5%), the total score of nurses knowledge was moderate (1.53). And the total score of nurse's practice was also moderate (2.3). There is a significant association between nurses' knowledge and practices with level of education and participant in training course in addition to significant relationship between practices and years of experience inside oncology ward. Recommendation: The researcher suggests that establishment of training courses for the nursing staff to increase their knowledge and develop their expertise. Created specialized centers for the treatment of cancers.
Role and Responsibility of oncology nurses from their point of view

Nurses are one of the most important members of an interdisciplinary team in clinical practice, especially in the field of oncology. Despite this, in the Republic of Kazakhstan, there is a lack of clarity regarding the roles, responsibilities, and unique contributions of a oncology nurse. The role and responsibility of oncology nurse were studied in order to make visible their job to peers and Kazakhstan society with the aim of offering further recommendations for improving oncological services. In this qualitative study, 63 oncology nurses divided into the six focus group were selected. After data collection, all focus group interviews were transcribed and analyzed by using content analysis method. The roles and responsibilities of oncology nurse were identified in the six main categories: role in symptom assessment, monitoring of patients and their family members; the psychological role of supporting the patient; information giving and patient\relatives education; current responsibilities and nursing responsibilities management. Results showed that the nurses are an active participant in the management of an oncology patient and plays an important role in his care, treatment, and rehabilitation, but nurses have a limited role as an independent member of an interdisciplinary team. Role and skills of the oncology nurse: an observational study

PURPOSE The importance of nursing competence arises from its central role in influencing and determining care outcomes. The employment of adequately educated staff, able to base clinical decisions on the best scientific evidence, is one of the components required for delivering high quality nursing care in the oncological field. The aim of this study is to analyze - through the Nurse Competence Scale - the level of competence of nurses working in oncological settings. Developing and validating Nursing Care Standard for Patients Receiving Chemotherapy

Nurses in different agencies and clinical settings have diverse roles in ensuring safe and competent cancer chemotherapy, such as Adapting and interpreting standards for the practice environment and care providers. Aim of the study: to develop and validating nursing care standards for patient receiving chemotherapy at the clinical Oncology department. Setting: Kasr El-Einy Center for Radiation Oncology and Nuclear Medicine (NEMROCK) at Cairo University Hospitals. The sample composed of two groups, the first group 80 experts while the second group consists of 40 staff nurses. Data collection tools were an opinionnaire developed by the researchers based on the relevant literatures and observation checklist. The results: there is strong agreement of all expert groups regarding the importance of developing standard of care for patient receiving chemotherapy, there was no performance appraisal system. While, the nursing intervention items that related to administration of chemotherapy via peripheral access had well performed. The study concluded that the proposed standards are valid and applicable to use in Kasr El-Einy Center for Radiation Oncology and Nuclear Medicine (NEMROCK) at Cairo University Hospitals. High qualified specialized oncology nurses are considered the backbone in any chemotherapy administration agency. Using standardized protocol for administration of chemotherapy is a pressing demand for prevention of medication errors with promotion of patients' safety and satisfaction. Aim: Evaluate the effect of chemotherapy nursing protocol application on patients' care competency, safety, and satisfaction. Design: Quasi experimental design. Setting: Oncology institution of Menoufia University. Subjects: A convenience sample of 44 oncology nurses and 36 patients receiving chemotherapy. Tools: Socio-demographic questionnaire, Oncology Nurses' knowledge questionnaire, Self-assessment chemotherapy related clinical competency questionnaire, Patient safety culture questionnaire and patients' satisfaction questionnaire. Results: The number of reported errors decreased throughout study phases with high statistically significant difference. The total knowledge score of studied nurses was improved from 7.75 pre protocol application to 21.45 immediately post protocol application with high statistically significant difference. The total nurses' competency score was improved from 48.79 to 88.50 then 87.57 respectively with high statistically significant difference. The total patients' satisfaction score was improved from 10.61 to 25.29 then 25.09 respectively with high statistically significant difference. Conclusion: A considerable improvement was observed in oncology nurses' knowledge, clinical competency and patients' safety and satisfaction after chemotherapy nursing protocol application. In addition, there was positive correlation between nurses' knowledge and competency and both patients' safety and satisfaction. Recommendation: Application of chemotherapy nursing protocol is recommended routinely for managing all chemotherapy patients.

Objective: To measure the levels of nurse's knowledge and attitude after the conduct of education session regarding chemotherapy administration and management. Methodology: This research study was conducted at two oncology units of tertiary Hospital Rawalpindi. A pre-post test intervention study design was used on 35 nurses by using Verity's tools. Results: The mean scores of knowledge were calculated by Cochran's Q test showed that knowledge scores have significantly increased with "educational training" (p value < 0.001). The difference in the attitude of the nurses was not found to be statistically significant in repeated measure of ANOVA. Conclusion: The results show that knowledge is the weakest component and attitude is strongest component of oncology nurses competencies in chemotherapy administration.

Introduction: Antineoplastic drugs (ANDs) for the treatment of cancers could result in occupational exposure of nurses and consequent side effects. This study aimed to evaluate knowledge, attitude, and performance of oncology nurses and to survey nurses’ chemotherapy workload and the experienced side effects. Method: A cross-sectional study was conducted at four hospitals of Urmia University, Iran. Two self-reported questionnaires were distributed among 54 oncology nurses to collect information on nurses’ workload and side effects as well as to evaluate their level of knowledge, attitude, and performance. Totally 54 nurses were participated in the study. Discussion: The mean age and chemotherapy work experience of nurses were 32.4±6.5 and 4.3±3.5 years, respectively. This study examines the importance of the existence of community radio in disasterprone areas, specifically in the field of disaster information and disaster mitigation for the surrounding community, the existence of community radio is very important as a means of various information and the adhesive of brotherhood in society. Jangkar Kelud community radio is a mass media engaged in broadcasts in the Kelud Ring area, namely in Blitar Regency, Malang Regency and Kediri Regency. This Radio was formed by a group of people in the Kelud Circle. The benefits of community radio are not when a disaster occurs, but the benefits of radio as a disaster mitigation media are very important continuously to convey awareness to the community. This type of research is descriptive qualitative, by adopting observations, interviews and documentation. The research methodw used is a qualitative method, because the method used is the result of interviews with informants as the primary data obtained from observations on the location of research on the data from the informant. The results of this study are, the strategy of building intimacy between the residents and the Jangkar Kelud community through the gathering, sinau together, social gathering, groups on Social media. Where the distribution is not seen by people at different levels, all have the same position and optimize the community within the Kelud Ring.
