Catalogue of the exhibition (Perugia 8 Nov - 18 Dec) devoted to Prospero Podiani (1535-1615), a learned man and great bibliophile who created in Perugia one of the largest private libraries of the 16th century with the aim of make it available to all. At the time of Podiani's death 10,000 volumes were in the library (a similar amount remained in Rome in another collection that did not survive as a whole). The exhibition, and the catalogue, is arranged in three sections: Vita e opere di Prospero Podiani (a new biography, free from common places attached to him since long time); I libri di Prospero. Ovvero: la Biblioteca Podiani (the library as it has been conceived and as it was right after Podiani's death); Perugia città di cultura (the cultural environment).

(2014) La Biblioteca antica dell'Università degli Studi di Perugia

In: «Annali di storia delle Università italiane», 18 (2014), pp. 195-217. Description and analysis of the old Library of the University, founded around 1810 and placed in the beautiful site that had just been realized by the monks of Montemorcino Nuovo. More than 10.000 volumes are still in the old shelves and around 6.000 are stocked in the Central Library (founded in the 1950s). The development of the University management and teaching practice along the 19th and 20th century is still visible through the collections and the story of their former owners.
