Contemporary Approach in Production Practices of Some Medical Plants, with Respect to the Most Important Pest in Vojvodina Province and Romanian Part of Banat (original) (raw)

Abstract

In production and disposal of medicinal herbs on the choosy European market especially important segment is the way of its protection from diseases and pests. Thus, in 2009 year significant attention was devoted to pathogens monitoring in order to provide recommendations for protection. At two localities (B. Petrovac and R. Šančevi) on experimental plots of the Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops, Novi Sad, conducted a review of herbs and collected samples of plant material with typical symptoms. It was found that on the medicinal herbs in the strongest intensity were present Marigold powdery mildew (Podosphaera xanthii) and Wormwood rust (Puccinia absinthii). Also it was found occurrence of Alternaria alternata on the Marsh mallow, Fusarium sp. on Pot marigold and were noticed the causes of spotting and drying, whose etiology should be further investigated.
