Abstract

In 1987, Angel Sáenz-Badillos published a critical edition of an anonymous dictionary, probably composed in Provence, which seemed to have been preserved in a unicum: Vatican, Biblioteca Apostolica Ms Vat. Ebr. 413. It has been possible to identify four other copies of this text, the oldest one certainly dates from the thirteenth century, while the most recent is probably the work of a Jewish convert, of Spanish origin, living among Christian humanists, in an Ashkenazi country. In this article, we will focus on the physical description of the different manuscripts, the title of the work and the various sources and authors which have inspired it.
