The paper investigates the influencing factors of women micro-entrepreneurship development in rural Bangladesh. The analysis based on empirical investigation carried out in northern part of Bangladesh. Data were collected from 248 women micro-entrepreneurs and 132 non-entrepreneurs. Present study adopts three basic aspects such as personal attributes, family affairs and external environment to evaluate their contribution towards women entrepreneurship. Applying "probit" model, the study finds among various personal attributes, freedom of work and desire for higher social status significantly influenced to participate in micro-entrepreneurship. Family hardship also turns likely to be involved in micro-entrepreneurship. Among various external factors, access to credit, access to entrepreneurship training, membership with development organizations, access to information and favorable infrastructure depicts inspiring factors in participating micro-entrepreneurship. Study also indentifies several challenging factors toward smooth development of women micro-entrepreneurship. The paper provides suggestions for strengthening women entrepreneurship development process in rural Bangladesh.
Women Entrepreneurs in Bangladesh- Challenges and Determining Factors

The aim of this study is to find out the major challenges that hinder smooth operation of women entrepreneurs of Bangladesh. It also finds the reasons behind the success of the women entrepreneurship. Both primary and secondary data have been used to conduct the study. The questionnaire included questions about economic problems, family related issues, social constraints and other limitations faced by women entrepreneurs and the reasons behind their success. Women involved in various small and medium enterprises take on the challenge to work in a male-dominated society, competitive and complex economic and business environment. However, the identified challenges are inadequate capital, sales promotion, getting permission to start-up a business, gender discrimination, illiteracy and lack of knowledge among women, non-availability of training program and technical support, lack of managerial experience, in some cases young people make ill talk about the enterprise and so on. Personal qualities such as hard work and perseverance, management skills and marketing skills, support provided by their spouses or family are the main reasons behind the success of the women entrepreneurs. The level of participation of women in mainstream economic activities remains insufficient and the percentage of women in business is still much below than that of their male counterparts.
Women entrepreneurship development in Bangladesh: What are the challenges ahead?

Women entrepreneurship is a rapidly growing phenomenon in many developing countries including Bangladesh. This paper reviewed the literature on women entrepreneurship development in Bangladesh with specific focus on government and financial intermediaries supports. The article also identified major challenges that obstruct smooth development of women entrepreneurs. Women involved in various micro, small and medium enterprises take on the challenge to work in a male-dominated society, competitive and complex economic and business environment with the government policy supports and financial institutions participation. They improved their living conditions and earned more respect in the family and the society. However, the challenges that were identified includes lack of access to credit, limited access to market information, infrastructure and utility services, traditional technology, bureaucratic complexity and so on. This article provides some useful academic insights and offers some practical suggestions toward improving government policy supports for developing women entrepreneurs.
Socioeconomic Factors of Women Entrepreneurship Development in Bangladesh

There is a paramount importance of women entrepreneurship development for the economic development of a developing country like Bangladesh. But the development this entrepreneurship depends on consolidated effort of the policymakers and the people of the country. This development of women entrepreneurship primarily depends on the positive environmental factors of the country such as, social, economic, legal, political, technological etc. factors that influence their activities of their entrepreneurial businesses. Among these factors, socio-economic factors are the major factors influencing the women entrepreneurship development in Bangladesh. Over the past couple of years, women entrepreneurs of Bangladesh acquired a large number of companies, both offline and online in nature. They have created employments by introducing new jobs in the job market. The identification of socioeconomic factors for the development of women entrepreneurship is very important in the socioeconomic conditions of Bangladesh. Hence, this study deals with the factors that affect the development of women entrepreneurship in Bangladesh. The study adopted a self-administered questionnaires and interviews with women entrepreneurs engaged in diverse business sectors. A total number of 201 women small women entrepreneurs in different businesses were interviewed. A structured questionnaire was designed to collect the relevant information from the respondent women entrepreneurs. Both descriptive and inferential statistics were used to analyze the collected data. Multivariate analysis techniques were used to identify the factors having influence on the development of women entrepreneurship in Bangladesh. The findings of the study show that there are eight socioeconomic factors of women entrepreneurship development in Bangladesh such as, availability of SME authority services, maintaining variety quality products, difficulty in sourcing start-up capital, public relationship, problems of family and gender discrimination, availability of training centers, availability of service tools and available supply of raw materials. This study suggest that the policymakers should focus more the factors like availability of SME authority services, difficulty in sourcing start-up capital, problems of family and gender discrimination and available supply of raw materials in order to development women entrepreneurship in Bangladesh.

This study aimed to analyze factors impacting women's success in micro and small businesses in Bangladesh and so add to the body of knowledge on entrepreneurship, particularly in developing nations. The study adopted a cross-sectional questionnaire to collect primary data as segment of an explanatory research design, which was then followed by a quantitative research strategy. 250 women entrepreneurs were randomly selected as a sample for the study. The results of this study showed that, on the one hand, entrepreneurial motivation, entrepreneurial orientation, adoption of technology, favorable framework conditions and state support are important for optimizing the performance of women in small industries in Bangladesh. On the other hand, access to finance turns out to be insignificant for the development of women's entrepreneurial capacity. Entrepreneurial competence is proving to be significant in increasing the business performance of women in Bangladesh. The study might be used as information by officials to take these aspects into account, promote an environment that helps women entrepreneurs perform better, and encourage women entrepreneurs to address the problems that are affecting performance and take steps to improve it.
Measuring the Factors of Problems to Develop Women Entrepreneurs in Bangladesh

The study is descriptive in nature and attempts to identify the factors of problems to develop women entrepreneurs in Bangladesh. More women entrepreneurs are getting involved in economic activities of the country especially in the small scale of business and more or less they are playing a significant role to boost up our economy. But, they have faced different problems where all of the problems nature is not same. As the nature of their problems we have tried to find out the different dimension of their problems. Paucity of fund is one of the major problems along with lacking of knowledge, lacking of sufficient information are other mentionable problems. Besides, institutional support from different government and non-government institutions is insufficient for development and growth of women entrepreneur. To accomplish the objective of the study primary data, based on structured survey questionnaire, were collected from 100 successful woman entrepreneur of Bangladesh. Considering the importance of women entrepreneurship issue, Government, donor agencies, NGOs, business community and all other relevant stakeholders should give a special emphasis through different interventions to ensure increased women's participation in formal economic sectors, especially in business and industry and promote women entrepreneurship in Bangladesh. This study will help us to find out the factors of their problems which will guide us to take necessary steps to overcome those problems. This article attempts to examine the small enterprise in three regions (Dhaka, Chittagong and Rangpur) of Bangladesh at two levels: the individual and the enterprise. This paper aims to investigate the constraints female entrepreneurs face during their initial stage and continued operation of their business, and the work-family conflicts they face. It also looks at the reasons for starting a new business and their success factors. Field study method is applied in an effort to develop case studies of successful female entrepreneurs in Bangladesh; hence the focus was on in-depth research as opposed to having a large sample size. Factors Influencing the Development of Women Entrepreneurship in Bangladesh

The development of entrepreneurship in Bangladesh is very challenging and cumbersome especially for woman. It is barred by a number of factors concerned with social, economic, cultural, environmental, and personal in nature. Women who are enjoying favorable environment in this regard have the chance to be entrepreneurs. Hence, this study aims at identifying the factors that influence the development of women entrepreneurship in Bangladesh. The specific objective of this study is to identify the factors that help in developing women entrepreneurs especially in SME sector of Bangladesh. A thorough literature has been reviewed to identify the factors and based on it a model for the development of women entrepreneurship has been constructed. Both descriptive and inferential statistics were used in analyzing the data. Descriptive statistics were used to describe the situation and inferential statistics were used to identify the relationships among the factors. Factor analysis was conducted to separate the factors related to the development of women entrepreneurship while multiple regression analysis has been used to identify the significant factors related to it. The results show that there are eleven factors concerned with the development of women entrepreneurship in Bangladesh. The factors are: negotiation and bargaining skills, management of sales, self-awareness, long-term involvement in business, and training on business are significantly related to the overall development of women entrepreneurship in Bangladesh. This study suggests that the policymakers should focus more on the development of negotiation and management skills of the women entrepreneurs through different training programs that will also increase the awareness of the women entrepreneurs of Bangladesh.

Women's participation in the economic sphere is increasing day by day. This study was conducted to assess the socio economic factors that affect the development of women entrepreneurs in Feni district. This study is descriptive in nature and mainly primary data is used for this article but to some extent secondary types of data were also incorporated. To execute this research, 100 respondents were taken using simple random sampling. The collected data was analyzed by using both descriptive and analytical procedures. After coding and organizing the data, statistical package for social sciences (SPSS) software was used to analyze further cleaning. Data analysis showed that economic and technological factors had positive impact upon women entrepreneurs in Feni district than other social and cultural factors. Hence it is recommended that government and other financial institutions should work with NGOs to strengthen women's socio economic development through imparting skill training, business oriented information and advising on services.
