Abstract The purpose of this study is to propose and discuss a conceptual model for investigating the factors responsible for influencing the adoption of knowledge management (KM) systems in public sector organizations in Saudi Arabia. This study examines the existing empirical studies on IT adoption research at the organizational level in general and KM systems adoption in particular. It was realized that KM systems adoption has been analysed mainly using theories such as, TAM, DOI, and TPB.

The important of KMS could not be denied in this competitive era especially when the organization has to focus on their sustainability and to remain competitive advantage. The purpose of this study was to identify the psychometric properties of a Readiness for Knowledge Management Implementation Questionnaire (RKMIQ) administered to State Audit Institution (SAI) Employees. This study explored the level of readiness for knowledge management (KM) process implementation in SAI. The dimensional structure of the questionnaire was investigated with a sample of 170 SAI employees (70% males and 30% females). Based on factor analysis results, the questionnaire emphasized sixteen factors categorized in five themes: organization culture, organization structure, information technology (IT) infrastructure, employees' acceptance of KM, and employees' intention to be involved in the KM process. The internal consistency and concurrent validity of RKMIQ were verified (Cronbach's alpha = 0.95). RKMIQ and its factors were significantly correlated with factors influencing the KM initiatives questionnaire (FIKMIQ). Testing of the reliability of RKMIQ using Test-Re-Test method revealed a significant correlation of (0.96) between the two applications. This questionnaire was proved to be relatively reliable and valid. The results showed that SAI is ready for KM process implementation. Since it is essential to assess organizational readiness for KM before embarking on KM initiatives, this study designed an instrument that brings together organizational and human factors influencing the readiness of organizations for KM. The comprehensiveness of the instrument, as well as the degree of validity and reliability that it demonstrated, justifies its adoption to measure the readiness of organizations to implement KM processes.

Recent technological developments have made a significant and positive impact on the ability and desire to manage knowledge. Therefore, the aim of this paper is to explore the usage of key knowledge management (KM) techniques and technologies for dealing with change initiatives in the KSA public sector organisations. A web based, online questionnaire survey method was employed to collect data. The survey revealed that conventional, simple and cost effective KM techniques and technologies such as telephone, internet, face-to-face meetings, WhatsApp, and formal education and training programmes are extensively used. Whereas modern KM techniques and technologies such as Viber, FaceTime, LinkdIn, Informal networks, and knowledge maps are less used. The paper concludes that to gain competitive advantage, it is necessary for KSA public sector decision makers to recognise and use a blend of ICT and non-ICT based KM techniques and technologies.
Many organizations are eager to become learning organizations that are known to contribute to increased financial performance, innovation, and the retention of workers who possess valuable organizational knowledge. For this reason, knowledge management systems (KMSs) in reality have been utilized as a means to foster the development of learning organizations. However, it remains questionable as to whether or not KMSs have any impact on the creation of learning organizations. Therefore, this study is designed to address this deficit and build a foundation for future research. Situated in theoretical frameworks pertinent to learning organizations and technology acceptance, a total of 327 datasets collected from three South Korean companies revealed that employees’ technology acceptances of KMSs could influence the creation of learning organizations in the workplaces of South Korea. The results showed that using KMSs influenced the development of learning organizations. To maximize the utilization of KMSs, the change management process should not be overlooked before and after the integration of technology.

This study was an attempt to investigate the relationship between information and communication technology (ICT) and its components and knowledge management in Iran municipality staff (Mazandaran Province). "Research Methodology" in this study was descriptive and correlational. To fulfill the purpose of this study, 152 staff were selected from among a total number of 250 population based on stratified sampling using Krejcie & Morgan sampling table. "The data collection tools" consisted of two standard questionnaires, including ICT questionnaires (%96 validity) and knowledge management questionnaire (95% validity). "The data analysis method" was inferential statistics conducting by SPSS and LISREL software. "The results" showed that there was a significant relationship between ICT and knowledge management. Also, that there was a significant relationship between ICT components include: "automation", "processing", "storage", "informing" and "communication", and knowledge management. Factors Influencing the Knowledge Seekers in Adopting the Knowledge Management System (KMS)

One indication of Knowledge Management System (KMS) success is when the knowledge seeker actively access the knowledge stored within the system's repository. Unfortunately, studies that specifically designed to provide more understanding about the behavior of the knowledge seeker with regard to their acceptance of KMS are still quite rare. The purpose of this study is to investigate the factors that influence the behavior of knowledge seeker(s) in KMS acceptance. A research model for this study was developed using the Theory of Reasoned Action (TRA), and the data was collected from 125 knowledge seekers from three companies in Indonesia. By utilizing the Squares Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) techniques with Smart PLS V2 software, the results of the statistical analysis confirmed that there is a positive correlation between the factors of management, effort and social relationship and the intention of knowledge seeker(s) in KMS acceptance. However, the correlation between the benefit factor and the intention of knowledge seeker(s) in KMS acceptance was not found. Namun disayangkan, kajian untuk memahami perilaku dalam penerimaan KMS oleh knowledge seeker masih terbatas. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menyelidiki faktor-faktor apa saja yang mempengaruhi perilaku knowledge seeker dalam menerima KMS. Sebuah model penelitian dikembangkan dengan menggunakan Theory Reason of Action (TRA) untuk penelitian ini, dan data dikumpulkan dari 125 orang knowledge seeker yang berasal dari tiga perusahaan di Indonesia. Menggunakan teknik SEM dengan software Smart PLS V2, hasil analisis statistik mengkonfirmasi bahwa terdapat hubungan positif antara faktor management, effort, dan social relationship dengan niat knowledge seeker menerima KMS. Namun hubungan antara faktor benefit dengan niat knowledge seeker menerima KMS tidak ditemukan.

As global competition continues to heighten, organizations are realizing they must effectively use and manage employee knowledge to remain competitive. Information technology (IT) facilitates knowledge management through enabling rapid dispersion of knowledge, collaborative work efforts, and effective storage and retrieval of knowledge. While theoretical and case-based research has explored facets of knowledge management, empirical work concerning the factors that enable adoption of knowledge management technologies is lacking. This research will investigate this important issue through a sample survey of IT executives in the United States, Mexico and Japan. A framework consisting of three categories of variables is used: organizational, technical, and environmental. Findings in each of these areas offer important implications for research and practice.

This paper aims to develop a systematic exploration of the literature investigating the factors that influence the adoption of the knowledge management system (KMS) in organizations as well as identifying the intercepting factors between different types of organizations such as small-medium enterprises (SMEs), large corporation and government organizations. Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) is used to structure the research field. The proposed research used filtering scientific papers published in Emerald Insight and Scopus from 2018 to 2022.
