ZENO'S ARROW ON THE WAY TO THE PURPOSE (original) (raw)
Zeno and Epicurus are predecessors of Einstein! For time quantum, a rigid body (more precisely, any of its material point), being in translational motion, either, by one jump, displaces on quantum of a way, or (Zeno's arrow!) remains on a former place. If the material point moves with velocity of light, any quantum of time corresponds quantum of a way, in other words, is actual. The motion with a smaller speed corresponds to a chain of actual and not actual quanta of time; the following one by one is casual to some extent. The concept of the continuum refers only to the mathematical idealization of physical discrete space-time reality.
