Enhancement of Secure and Efficient Data Transmission in cluster based Wireless Sensor Networks

Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) plays vital role in research field. Due to its rapidly increasing application in monitoring various kinds of environment by sensing physical phenomenon. Clustering is an efficient and effective method to enhance performance of the WSNs system. In this project work, we study a secure transmission of data for cluster-based WSNs (CWSNs), where the clusters are formed dynamically and randomly. We propose two Secure and Efficient data Transmission (SET) protocols for CWSNs, called SET-IBS and SET-IBOOS, by using the Identity-Based digital Signature (IBS) scheme and the Identity-Based Online/Offline digital Signature (IBOOS) scheme, respectively. The cluster routing protocol LEACH (Low-Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchy) is considered and improved. In SET-IBS, security relies on the hardness of the Diffie-Hellman problem in the pairing area. SET-IBOOS additionally decreases the computational operating cost for protocol security, which is critical for WSNs, while its defense depends on the stability of the problem of discrete logarithm. We propose a clustering routing protocol named Enhanced LEACH, which extends LEACH protocol by balancing the energy consumption in the network. The simulation results show that Enhanced LEACH outperforms LEACH in terms of network system lifetime and reduce the energy consumption.

Secure data broadcast is a severe problem for wireless sensor networks (WSNs) so the clustering is an efficient and realistic method to get better system performance of WSNs. This paper discussed the secure data broadcast for cluster-based WSNs (CWSNs) where the clusters are created dynamically and periodically. The two proposed Secure and Efficient data Transmission (SET) protocols used in cluster-based WSNs [1] are SET-IBS and SET-IBOOS with the Identity-Based digital Signature (IBS) method and the Identity-Based Online/Offline digital Signature (IBOOS) method, respectively. In SET-IBS, security depends on the rigidity of the Diffie-Hellman problem in the coupling domain. The SET-IBOOS additionally minimize the computational burden for protocol security, which is crucial for WSNs, at the same time as its security depends on the rigidity of the discrete logarithm problem. This paper shows the practicability of the SET-IBS and SET-IBOOS protocols regarding the security requirements and security analysis beside a variety of attacks. The result shows the efficiency of the proposed protocols. In the terms of security overhead and energy consumption, the outcome of the proposed protocols have enhanced performance than the existing secure protocols for CWSNs, In this paper, we discussed a secure data transmission for cluster-based WSNs in which the clusters are formed dynamically and at regular intervals.

Journal 4 Research - J4R Journal, 2018

Secure information transmission is a basic issue for Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs). Clustering is a practical approach to improve the execution of WSNs. In this paper we study about the safe and efficient data transmission in Cluster based Wireless Sensor Networks (CWSNs). Here two Secure and Efficient data Transmission (SET) protocols are proposed namely (SET-IBS) and (SET-IBOOS) by using digital signature schemes. The SET-IBS security depends on the hardness of the discrete logarithm issues. In this paper the feasibility of the SET-IBS and SET-IBOOS protocols is shown with respect to the security requirements and analysis against various attacks. The calculations and simulations are given to represent the effectiveness of the proposed execution over the current secure protocols for CWSNs, as far as security overhead and energy consumption is considered. A WSN system consist of distributed devices using wireless sensor nodes to monitor the physical or the environmental conditions, such as sound, temperature, air, vibration and motion. The individual nodes in WSN are capable of sensing their environment, processing the information locally and sending data to one or more collection points in WSN. In this process efficient data transmission is one of the most important issues in WSN. Many WSN are deployed in extreme physical environments for applications such as military domains, natural or artificial disasters or certain rescue operations with trustless surroundings. Secure and efficient data transmission is thus especially necessary and is demanded in many such practical WSNs.
