Mercado del crédito informal: una aproximación empírica (original) (raw)

The aim of this paper is to analyze the demand for informal credit in Colombia, which enables greater financial inclusion for Colombian households and individuals. Therefore, under binomial and multinomial logit models, and using information from the Colombian Longitudinal Survey of Universidad de los Andes (ELCA), it was found that attributes such amounts, frequency of payments and timing play a key role, so if these attributes are minor, greater is the probability of access to informal credit. Moreover, assets in support of an informal debt, do not play a significant role, since trust is fundamental in the relationship between lender and borrower.
