Design and Modeling of Cereal Crop Reaper Machine
Journal of Applied Mechanical Engineering, 2020
Harvesting by using traditional method is time consuming; it needs much labor force and result in much grain loss. For developing nations like Ethiopia, importing combine harvester is too expensive and not affordable for small scale farmers. The aim of this project was to design and model cereal crop reaper machine that is easily available and operated by small scale farm holders. The designed reaper was manually guided and powered with diesel engine for cutting cereal crop stems. With the help of pulley-belt arrangement, drive power is transmitted from engine to gear mounted shafts. A bevel gear arrangement is used to transmit motion at certain angle. One end of bevel gear shaft was connected to slider crank mechanism which converts rotary motion of shaft into reciprocating motion of cutter bar. Reciprocating cutter bar slides over fixed bar and created scissoring action between cutter blades which are responsible for cutting the crop stems. Integrating mechanism consist of flat be...

International Journal for Research in Applied Science & Engineering Technology (IJRASET), 2022
Crop harvesting is the important part in agricultural field. The use of crop reaper in country can minimize the product cost which will be result in economic development of agricultural production. This paper is providing the design and fabrication of mechanically operated crop reaper machine. In the current situation in our country there are not more proper cost effective crop reaper and most of the farmers are using manually traditional crop cutting mechanism, the traditional use of harvesting mechanism is more un intresting, time consuming and not able to develop the agricultural sector as needed. Depending on the problem stated in existing crop reaper to satisfy the need of farmers and to meet the requirement of the objective of the problem. This paper addresses a Crop cutting Machine which is fabricated with very simple mechanisms at very low cost. Cutting of crop is one of the important agricultural operations which demand considerable amount of Labour. The availability and cost of labour during cutting season are the serious problem. The Shortage of labour during harvesting season and vagaries of the weather cause great losses to the farmers it is therefore, essential to adopt the mechanical methods so that the timeliness in cutting operation could be ensured. The use of mechanical harvesting device has been increased in the recent years. Farmers using reapers or combines to harvest their crops but these means especially combine; these are very costly making it un-affordable to most of the small farmers. Although, some manual operated reapers were developed. But, due to limitations of manual power, none of them become popular as the power available for transportation of the machine as well as cutting and conveying of the crop was not sufficient. In this research, we are study and fabricate a Crop Cutting Machine at very low cost and techniques were carried out. I.

Design and Fabrication of Agricultural Reaper Machine
Iconic Research and Engineering Journals, 2019
This research paper is based on reaper and binder machine. It performs cutting and binding simultaneously. Reaper machine is a harvesting tool which cut crop and windrow it on the field. The main components of reaper are header, power source and transmission and frame.During operation in the field we face the problem of arm for binder which transmits the motion from the base mechanism to the fingers which collects the paddy. Therefore, mechanical harvesting such as reaping with reaper, binders and combine harvesters are becoming popular. It is intended that design of the paddy harvesting machine should be durable, reliable, simple and easy to maintain. In this research paper, the designs of reaping gear box and carrier chain system are described. In the reaping mechanism, gear box plays an important role. Thus, the design calculations of bevel gears are calculated and suitable gears and materials are being selected.

The mission of this project through which the product is developed to spread out the appropriate technology to the countries primary and the secondary market are identified with the stakeholders. The general procedure of conceptual design used; concept generation by decomposing into main and sub function, product ideas from internal and external search, generating alternative solution by setting criteria's and Digital Logical Approach has been used for concept evaluation and selection. The product architecture and configuration finally introduced in the embodiment design after the selection of final concept. Design and development of mechanically or manually operated reaper for grain harvesting machine which is evaluated against the technical and economical criteria's can be carried out to be suitable with the most Ethiopians low farmers capacity.
Design and Development of Maize Reaper Machine
In India, maize is the third most important crop after wheat and rice. It is grown throughout the year and also is an important raw material for many industries like alcohol, oil, starch, beverages, pharmaceutical, and others. But most of the land in India is uneven and in small pieces and irregular. Hence people still use sickle for harvesting the crop instead of heavy machines because they are costly in operation and complex in maintenance. They are less popular in India, but on introducing a small, cheap and light weight motor/engine operated reaper the harvesting of crop can be done efficiently and effectively. In this paper, the design and development of maize reaper machine is developed. By using these reaper machine we can save a large amount of time and money on each season and can be spent on other crops.

Construction, Improvement and Performance Test of Low Cost Rice Reaper Machine
Bangladesh is an agricultural country. Almost 75% 0f our total population live from hand to mouth. They largely depend on agricultural land. The poor farmers harvest their lands with conventional hand tools that require long time to cultivate. They even don't have so much land rather they have to confine in limited source of cultivating tools. Almost 60 to 70% farmers have less than one acre. Thus, they can't avail highly cost machine to reap their rice in short time. Due to the lack of this machine, they have to spend a good sum of money to reap the rice. Moreover, they even don't find any worker to cut of the paddy in a proper time and ultimately they fall in loss. Now a day, heavy duty rice reaper machine is available in developed countries like China, Korea, America and Canada for cultivating thousand acres of land in a short time. But under developing countries like ours, the applications of high cost machine are very rare. But there are few rice reaper machines which offer low cost and comparatively light in structure. To remove this problem, a machine has been improved which is named as low cost rice reaper machine. By this machine, paddy can cut in a short time with high speed and efficiency. The machine is designed to operate at an input power of 840 watt, whereas the output power is 702.33 watt. There is a provision to use rechargeable batteries with stainless steel blade cutter. The operating cost of harvesting one acre of land it takes 22.48 hours and BDT 3330.00 in one season. The main advantage of this machine is its simple design and low construction cost. All the material required for constructing the machine are locally available and total construction cost is around BDT 13,690.00. Besides, this machine can operate with the solar energy by recharging the batteries in many cycles when the farmer takes a rest. By using this machine, time and money of the farmers will be saved and on the other hand, it promotes the use of green energy.
