The Effect Of Educational Inequality On Economic Growth In Indonesia
Jurnal Pajak dan Keuangan Negara (PKN)
Education is the elevator of the Indonesian economy. Where education is able to improve the welfare of society. However, the development of education in Indonesia is not evenly distributed. This inequality can be felt both between villages and cities as well as between regions in Indonesia. In theory, the occurrence of educational inequality will increase the poverty rate which will have an impact on decreasing economic growth. So in this study we want to examine the effect of educational inequality on economic growth by taking into account other variables, namely the poverty rate, population and government spending on education. The data used is secondary data from 34 provinces in Indonesia from 2015 to 2020 sourced from the Central Bureau of Statistics and the Directorate General of Fiscal Balance, Ministry of Finance. The results obtained are true that education inequality exists in Indonesia, even though the scale is still relatively low to medium. However, statistically it is f...

This study aims to determine the effect of economic growth, HDI, inflation, and unemployment to poverty level in Central Java regency / city. The method of analysis used in this study is a method of panel data analysis combination between time series with cross-sectional analysis as a data processing tool using Eviews 9. The model chosen in this research is the random effect model. The result of regression model of random effect shows that economic growth, ipm, and inflation have negative effect on poverty level. While unemployment positively affect the level of poverty. For F test, the variable of economic growth, HDI, inflation, and unemployment together (simultaneously) have an effect on poverty level.
Measurement and Descriptive Analysis of the Education Inequality Levels in Indonesia
The study aimed to analyze (1) the measure and difference of education inequality per year, (2) opportunity to reduce education inequality, (3) linkages of historical description of education inequality to economic growth, number of poor people, and provision of education by the government. This research used time-series data from 1978 to 2017 in the shape of the education level data. Data were analyzed used (1) Education Lorenz Curve (2) the average measurement and calculation of changes in education structure, and (3) scatter plot chart analysis. The result showed that in 1978 the Indonesian education inequality index was 0.926 and experienced a decline in education inequality by 45.14 percent for 20 years as indicated by the level of education inequality by 0.508 in 2017. The Rate of Change in education inequality showed decrease drastically from 1978 to 1997 because of the INPRESS Program Policy. Opportunities for Reducing Education Inequality emerged from the increase of school participation rates, especially in the age group of 16-18 years, which are achieved through an increasing number of schools at the senior secondary level. Increased education participation will also depend on decreasing the share of the population in the two lowest income quintiles and increasing per capita income. Economic growth, a decrease in the number of poor people, and the allocation of the education budget in a descriptive historical context tend to be essential factors in determining the change in education inequality every year.

Education is one way to save oneself from poverty. There are 19.5 percent of poor people in East Java who have completed education at the senior high school level and above but are still in poor condition. This study aims to examine the effect of socio-economic and regional characteristics on the status of the poor with upper secondary education in each cultural area in the province of East Java. Using the 2021 Susenas data which was analyzed with binary logistic regression, it was found that there were differences in socio-economic characteristics in each cultural area. Disability disorders and gender affect educated poverty in the Arek area but have no effect in the Pandalungan, Mataraman, and Madura Islands areas. Formal and informal sector jobs only have an effect in the Pandalungan area and have no effect in other areas. Choosing to work in the primary sector only affects the Mataraman area. While the factors of age, access to technology and use of the internet reduce the oppor...

Researchers found that the decrease in income inequality affects poverty reduction through redistribution policies. This redistribution policy has also accelerated poverty reduction. In addition, the researcher found that the element of growth led to the achievement of poverty reduction in the long term. Researchers show that economic growth has the power to determine poverty reduction. The type of data in this study uses secondary data sourced from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), namely Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at Constant Prices (ADHK) 2010, Number of Poor Populations, and Gini Ratio by Provinces in Indonesia during the period 2015-2020. The analytical method used is panel data regression using three forms, namely: CEM (common effect model), FEM (fixed-effect model), and REM (random effect model). Based on the empirical findings using panel data regression, it can be concluded that the variables of economic growth (LOGPDRB) and income inequality (GIN) are consistent with various panel regression models as well as the common effect model (CEM), fixed effect model (FEM) and random effect. In addition, the model (REM) positively affects the number of poor people. It means that if the two variables increase, there will also be an increase or increase in the number of poor people according to the provinces in Indonesia.
