Reservation Based Smart Parking System

It is difficult to find parking space in metropolitan areas, especially in peak rush time. The problem is that the driver does not know the available space at the time. Even if know, most of vehicle may consume limited parking space which leads to traffic congestion and also the time and fuel are wasted in search (blind search) of parking. For this problem, we have designed and developed a prototype of Reservation based Smart Parking System (RSPS), which will allow the users (drivers or owners) to effectively find and reserve the available parking space. The sensor network deployed in parking system will make this system efficient to use. The drivers are allowed to use this system by their personal communication devices. This proposed parking system has the potential to solve the parking problems and also simplifies the parking operations.

The Development of Smart Parking System

The increasing of the number of vehicle ownership, parking has become the serious problem for several people. One of the problems is difficulty to looking for the empty parking space in the large parking area and also the amount of illegal parking car that does not follow the rules of the parking space dimension. In this paper, we proposed the smart parking system using the Internet of Things (IoT) that can be part of a solution for the parking problem. This system help in organizing the parking lot and helps the driver to reach their parking spots easily as they known which space is vacant. The parking space can be detected using an Infrared sensor that connects to the ESP8266 module that was programmed through Arduino IDE. Users can access parking space information using a smartphone via an application. Especially for users who have been registered before, they have a code for login the app as the requirement for security system and user parking convenience. The system can work with the purpose of the research appropriately.

Smart Parking System Based on Embedded System and Sensor Network

Locating a parking space in central city areas, especially during the peak hours, is cumbersome for drivers. The issue arises from not having the knowledge of where the available spaces may be at the time, even if known, many vehicles may seek very limited parking spaces to cause severe traffic congestion. In this paper the design and implementation with a prototype of Reservation-based Smart Parking System (RSPS) that permits drivers to effectively locate and withhold the vacant parking spaces in mentioned. This system use cluster based algorithm which helps in periodically learning the parking status from the sensor networks deployed in parking spaces, the reservation service is influenced by the change of parking status. The drivers are allowed to access this said cyber-physical system with their personal communication devices. The system implemented is cost efficient smart parking system for multi-level parking facility using WSN (IR Sensor) and develop an android based application, by cluster based allocation method and performs automatic billing process. The system monitors the availability of idle parking slots and guides the vehicle to the nearest free slot.

Survey of Smart Parking System Enhanced with Current Technology

In the recent days, some parking lot systems are equipped with sensors and microcontrollers to automatically count the bikes parked in the lot. However, No such a parking system introduced for two wheeler vehicular parking system. The proposed system is suitable for sense the status of parking spaces. We can fix the smart device on two wheeler which displays the free or available slots on bike parking system and also provide a navigation system to display the dynamic updates on each parking slot. The central unit system continuously collets the data from parking unit and then it intimates the hourly message to the user about the tariff.

In today’s era one of the most common problems which the world is facing is an exponential increase in population. This has indirectly increased a lot of other issues; one of them being the quantity of vehicles on the road. The increased number of vehicles results in shortage of parking areas. This project aims to present an intelligent parking system for vehicles that identifies the parking slot automatically through sensors and displays it without making the drivers to circle around the parking area. In metropolitan areas, parking management influences drivers search time and cost for parking spaces, parking revenue, and traffic congestion. The wide deployment of wireless parking meters with sensing and communications capabilities allows the parking authority to monitor the state of each parking space in real time and optimize the parking management.

There is a dire need for a secure, intelligent, efficient and reliable system which can be used for searching the unoccupied parking facility, guidance towards the parking facility, negotiation of the parking fee, along with the proper management of the parking facility. Intelligent Parking Service is a part of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS). This paper describes a smart parking sensing and information system that disseminates parking availability information to public users in a cost-effective and efficient manner. The hardware framework of the system is built on advanced wireless sensor networks and cloud service over the Internet, and the system is highly scalable. The parking information provided to the users is set in the form of occupancy rates and expected cruising time. Both are obtained from an analytical algorithm that processes historical and real-time data and are then visualized in a color theme. As the number of vehicles on roads continues to rise, businesses are more likely to encounter a range of issues. To address such challenges, the "Smart Parking System" has been developed as an intelligent and automatic solution for parking vehicles. This system is designed to alleviate problems faced by urban areas on their roads. However, precisely tracking the availability of parking spots across different locations and times remains a significant difficulty. Nonetheless, the Smart Parking System enables parking attendants to easily locate empty parking spaces. Moreover, implementing this smart parking system can help minimize energy consumption and pollution levels in cities, ultimately contributing toward the country's economic growth.

INTELLIGENT APPROACH FOR SMART CAR PARKING RESERVATION AND SECURITY MAINTENANCE SYSTEM

We approach a special system for smart parking reservation and security maintenance in a commercial car parking area in an urban environment. This system mainly designed to avoid unnecessary time conception to find an empty lot in a car parking area. By the same case we can also save more than 80% of fuel wastage in a car parking area to finds the empty parking slot. The reservation process is happening only by user. Hence the user finds the empty parking lot and makes the action of reservation through an internet access by an embedded process control unit (EPCU) with driver's own knowledge. Here we give the major response to user's reservation action and hence the driver can reserve his own likely parking slot based on the cost function. Instead of efficient car parking we need a special security options to make our vehicle very safe. By this case we have provided a best security guidance of barrier gate control security system (BGCSS) with the help of embedded process control unit (EPCU). There are number of steps taken to make a reservation with different lighting scheme mechanism (DLSM). We have proposed a system with multi-processing queuing mechanism (MPQM) to avoid multi-user approach problem (MUAP) during reservation process in our smart parking reservation system.
