Relationship Between Quality of Life and Emotional Intelligence of the Sample Youth

The present research was carried out with the aim of assessing the relationship between Quality of life and Emotional Intelligence among youth of Jammu city. The sample for the study comprised of 160 employed youth of Jammu city, half of who were males and rest females. The sample was selected through multi stage sampling technique where in the actual sample was selected randomly. The tools used for investigation / data collection were a standardized Emotional Intelligence scale developed Chadha and Singh (2003) and Quality of Life scale developed by Frish (1994). Correlation analysis reveals that for both male as well as female youth certain components of quality of life were significantly related with emotional intelligence and its sub components, pointing towards a significant association between emotional intelligence and quality of life.

The current research was carried out with the aim of investigating the relation between the emotional intelligence and mental health of the students majoring in educational sciences in the year 2012 at the Mahabad Payame Noor University. For this purpose, we chose 86 students from among 150 students through simple random sampling and these 86 people responded to the questionnaire of emotional intelligence and mental health. After analyzing the findings, we concluded that there is a significant relation between the emotional intelligence and mental health of these students and the correlation is positive. The average scores pertaining to physical symptoms, anxiety, disorders in social performance and depression are respectively 13/372, 13/767, 8/418 and 15/569.
Emotional Intelligence and Mental Health of Senior High School Students: A Correlational Study

Mental health among students is one of the major concerns amidst the pandemic. Employing a correlational design, this study investigates the relationship between emotional intelligence and mental health among 152 senior high school students. Based on the statistical analysis, the r coefficient of 0.82 indicates a high positive correlation between the variables. The p-value of 0.00, which is less than 0.05, leads to the decision to reject the null hypothesis. Hence, a significant relationship exists between emotional intelligence and mental health among senior high school. Implications were discussed in the study.

This study investigates the relationship between mental health and emotional intelligence among senior high school students in a public school. Thus, the study employed a correlational design to measure the relationship between mental health and emotional intelligence among 152 Grade 12 senior high school students in a public school. Hence, to measure the study's variables-Mental Health Inventory and Emotional Intelligence Scale (EIS) were utilized. Based on the inferential statistics, the r coefficient of 0.32 indicates a low positive correlation between the variables and a pvalue of 0.00, indicating a significant relationship between the respondents' mental health and emotional intelligence. Implications and recommendations were discussed in the study.
Emotional intelligence incorporates the important aspects of interpersonal and intrapersonal relationships, adaptability, moods and stress management skills, which have a profound effect on the academic performance of students. Therefore, the present study was performed aiming at surveying emotional intelligence and its relation with academic performance of medical science students. In order to measure emotional intelligence, the instrument EQ-i-questionnaire was selected. A sample consisted of two hundred and twentythree (223) adolescent students, 70 males and 153 females, participated in this research by stratified sampling. Initially they filled the demographic data form and then they rated themselves on EQ-i-test. Finally, their academic performance was appraised on the basis of their final exam, results for the last three years. In order to analyze data, regression analysis, Pearson's correlation and T-test were used.Mean EI score was 245.94 (95 percent CI: 243.15-248.72). Pearson's correlation coefficient showed that there is a significant (r=0.14, p=0.039) relationship between emotional intelligence and academic performance while findings indicated a meaningful relation (p<0.05) between its two subcomponents emotional intelligence, and academic performance. There were significant differences in the emotional intelligence scores by habitat of students (p<0.01). considering the low level of emotional intelligence among students the meaningful relation between total and some components emotional intelligence with academic performance, it seems very important take to emotional intelligence in to consideration students mental health improve and help them do their tasks more successfully.
