La Trata y Tráfico de Personas y el Feminicidio en Bolivia (original) (raw)

This essay addresses the Human Rights violation in Bolivia, in relation with two specific subjects: trafficking in persons and feminicide. First, it analyses both problems in a global manner and later it concentrates the situation in Bolivia, based in the cases of those crimes registered before entities such as the ¨Fuerza de Lucha contra el Crimen¨ (FELCC), reports and data from the ombudsman, and from institutions dedicated to the defense of women rights. In Bolivia, since 2012, laws were promulgated that have as specific orientation to advance in the legislation in the human rights matter, among them, the integrated law against trafficking in persons, the law against the harassment and political violence towards women, and in 2013 the integrated law to guarantee to women a life free of violence, in direct relation to feminicide. However, the application of these rules, promulgated as an answer to the need and lobbying of society, it confronts with the reality, particularly facing the rise of citizen security, whose manifestation and dangerous expansion have put the subject on the debate, as much in Bolivia as in the region.
