A new scheme called “Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation in Developing Countries plus Conservation, Sustainable Management of Forests, and Enhancement of Forest Carbon Stocks” (REDD+) is being discussed to be one of the essential elements of the post-2012 global climate change regime. Many countries have put their proposal on the architectures of such scheme to the UNFCCC and demonstrated pilot projects on the ground as well. The research has been conducted to analyze critically the extent to which the REDD+ architecture being designed in Indonesia would be able to deliver climate effectiveness, costs efficient, equity outcomes and social and environmental co-benefits (3E+). It is argued that the basic idea of REDD+ is very simple to incentivize emission-reduction activities from forestry sectors in developing countries. However, so far, the REDD+ architecture appears to contain several contentious issues. Therefore, the issues should be addressed seriously otherwise they would undermine the REDD+ objectives.

The development of health education, education in the scope of healthy lifestyles is significantly affected by the mass media, and primarily the Internet, which i san interactive source of information and the space to acquire competencies supporting health. Access to the Internet is getting more and more widespread; also the range of easily accessible content, related to the lifestyle has expanded. Migrations of populations tend to impair the traditionally understood image of the urban and rural environments. Technological advances in the field of transport communications ans IT have also reducted the distance between the two discussed environments. The aim of this study was to assess the level of pro-health behaviors of women who are interested in a healthy lifestyle, and who live both in the countryside and large cities. The study involved 78 women from the towns with up to 3 thousand inhabitants and 130 from the cities with a population over 100 thousand inhabitants. All research participants were active participants in one the largest health services for mature women in Poland. The research was part of the PARP project – Global health problems, implemented by the Foundation „Smak Życia”. Standardized research tools Health Behavior Inventory were applied according to the adaptation of Z. Juczyński. As many as 30% o patients achieved a low level of pro-health bahaviors, 45% obtained an average score, and only 25% - a high one, wihch due to an interest in the subject of a healthy lifestyle, occurring as a constant activity on the online health portal, can be regarded as an unsatisfactory result. The research participants (female subscribes of advice from pro-health service) willing to share their experience, commented on a variety of content related to health issues, however, the level of their health behaviors did not differ significantly from the average values for the Polish population. There was no statistically significant difference in the level of realized health behaviors between women living in rural and metropolitan environments. Research confirmed that Internet theme services concerning issues of a lifestyle, are a chance to equalize disparities in pro-health behaviors, and consequently – in health itself, thus initiatives of raising interest in health education through the mass media ought to be supported.
Variation of Test anxiety over Listening and Speaking Test Performance
Among factors affecting test performance, test anxiety has been the focus of attentions for decades. However, the skills have always been considered in isolation. This study intends to investigate the effect of test anxiety in relation with two major skills—listening and speaking—associated with test anxiety, as well as the amount of anxiety before and after the listening test. Three intact groups (74 freshmen students of English) participated in the study: Group 1 took the Anxiety scale (Fujii, 1993) before their final exam which was conducted in the form of oral interview; Group 2 took the questionnaire before the final exam which was in the form of a listening comprehension (LC) test; and the third group did so after the LC test was over. The results indicated that anxiety is a more serious factor in taking oral tests than in the LC type tests. However, no significant difference was found between test anxiety before and after the LC test. Results are discussed in relation to the ...
The gender of cyborgs: Discussion on the margin of changes in genetics
Journal of Gender and Power, Vol. 1, No. 1, 2014, p. 147-155, 2014
The aim of this paper is to show that gender, both as a biological and social category, ceases to exist in the vision of man constructed by contemporary genetics. In the paper, I present the elementary concepts of genetic engineering and liberal genetics, and show how these two currents in genetics change gender into a feature deprived of any designata. I advance a thesis that the man of the future, a cyborg, is a man without gender.
