Sustainable Development of Natural Resources: Present & Future (original) (raw)

Natural resources and sustainable development

2008

The use of natural resources into the productive technological processes means the direct consumption of resources for satisfaction of needs of products and services. The exploitation of natural resources can be performed into a complex, coordinated manner, through the simultaneous satisfaction of more consumption demands. The actual generation evidently supports the degradation and sometimes decreasing of natural resources because of the past generations. The future generation will support not only the actual cost of environment degradation, of natural resources diminishing but also the cost of accumulation into the environment of atmospheric pollutants and toxic heavy metals, of losing the tropical forests and biodiversity. For this reason it is necessary the actual consideration of the needs for the future generation, even if that implies supplementary charges for political institutions that are obliged to satisfy only the economical, social and environmental demands and needs for the actual generation.

Natural Resources and Environmental Issues

Journal of Ecosystem & Ecography, 2016

Natural resources and environmental concerns have been prevalent not only in India, but in other countries of the world as well, but in most cases, India has been the major country that has experienced the depletion of natural resources and environmental degradation. In this research manuscript, main focus has been laid upon India; India is the most populous country in the world and with the impact of population explosion, there is exhaustion of natural resources and environmental degradation. The main areas that have been highlighted are rural poverty and environmental degradation, effects of disasters and natural hazards, assessing risks, impacts and opportunities from natural resources and the environment, precise insinuations for environment, sustainability and green development, greening rural development and economic growth and environmental sustainability. The issues have been taken into account and the measures also have been underscored that are essential in order to lead to preservation and sustenance of natural resources and the environment.

The New Concept of Natural Resource and Its Derivations

2020

As the real world changes faster than the theoretical concepts formulated to explain it, after a certain elapsed time these concepts lose accuracy. They start gradually lagging behind the facts they once explained until they became rather narrowed and imprecise. Considering that, concepts have to be reviewed periodically to incorporate new facts and perspectives in order to converge their meanings to the new realities. This research aimed to reveal faults and inaccuracies concerning the concept of natural resources and its derivations. Additionally, we intended to update and expand them in order to recover their weakened explanatory power. Methodologically, this research undertook a conceptual revision based on authors of various backgrounds. Then, these concepts were confronted to new facts to corroborate their current inaccuracy. Thus, we drew some conclusions that allowed us to present a new definition of natural resources. To replace the dualist definition of renewable X non ren...

UTILISATION OF NATURAL RESOURCES & ITS ROLE IN SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT-IN INDIAN PERSPECTIVE

India which is a country of diversity, about which it is, said that after every 100 km the taste of water and the language changes. Country in which there are 22 official languages according to Article 345 of the constitution, it is the seventh-largest country in the world, with a total land area of 3,287,263 square kilometres (1,269,219 sq mi).India measures 3,214 km (1,997 mi) from north to south and 2,993 km (1,860 mi) from east to west. It has a land frontier of 15,200 km (9,445 mi) and a coastline of 7,517 km (4,671 mi). India it is said to be rich in natural resources which has so many minerals and very fertile land for agriculture it has, in abundance water resources in form of rivers like Ganga ,Brahmaputra Yamuna Kaveri etc which provides it power and water for irrigation facilities. Yet as compare other Asian countries like Malaysia, Thailand Japan Hong Kong and last but not the least China which are revamped by the level of development in their countries our country is still lagging behind them in various sectors. If our leaders wish to break the shackles of poverty and unemployment then according to the need of our they should try to focus on the optimum utilisation of natural resources, which will lead to sustainable development in India. This research paper aims to bring out the various natural resources for which other countries in world yearns and which are present in abundance in our country, natural resources which are underutilised and areas in which these resources are scattered still to be explored.

A Natural Resource Management Framework for Sustainable Development

Pak. J. Commer. Soc. Sci, 2010

Natural resources in the form of oil, gas, minerals and forests are an asset in the countries where they are found. A number of countries depend largely on exports of their natural resources, earning major portion of their foreign exchange from these exports. It is very easy for the countries to exhaust their natural resources by over utilization of these resources. Policy makers may overlook sustainability aspect of the natural assets and resultantly, design policies to obtain short term gains while ignoring long term implications. Another problem faced by countries depending heavily on export of natural resources is that their revenue generation capacities from service sector or export of other items is overlooked in policy decisions. The paper presents a framework that may be used by policymakers for visualizing country's natural resources as assets and developing policies for gaining maximum economic benefits from these assets, but at the same time, taking care that these assets are developed and preserved for the next generations. The paper suggests that the countries should view natural resources as critical asset and secondly, asset specific strategies should be formed for their development. It is emphasized that these asset specific strategies should be designed in such a manner as they do not work against one another and are aligned with the overall economic plan of the country.
