Quesna: The Ptolemaic and Roman Cemetery (original) (raw)

The archaeological study at Quesna, conducted during the 2007 Minufiyeh Archaeological Survey season, reveals significant insights into the Ptolemaic and Roman burial practices at this ancient site. Excavations uncovered the skeletal remains of 29 individuals, primarily revealing distinct burial orientations and a diverse population with rich funerary artifacts, including terracotta coffins and various amulets. This work aims to enhance understanding of the cultural and religious practices associated with burials at Quesna, particularly relating to the worship of the falcon god, Horus.
