Nafs is one of the key concepts in the study of philosophy metaphysics. Besides as it is the main substance of the human body moves, the soul also has a role in the process of thinking and understanding the reality that produced knowledge. The knowledge will form perspective of life (worldview). In this case, Ibn Sina is one of the Muslim philosophers deeply and detail to explain the nature of nafs. He explained about the potentials of the nafs (Quwwah al-nafs) that are bound to each other, and it has a relation with the bodies. About the relation between soul and bodies, he said that nafs will never reach a phenomenal stage without the bodies, when this stage is achieved it becomes a source of life, the regulator, and the potential of the bodies. He suggested some scientific argument about the existence of nafs and its relationship to the body, one of which on 'human fly' who inspired Western scholars created the theory of 'Super-Man'. He also explained about the immortality of the soul along with some logical argument that proves its immortality. From these views, Ibn Sina concluded that the immortality of the soul is not essential eternity as eternity and immutability of God. Ibn Sina's explanation of the nafs is comprehensive enough, even though there are some similarities with the soul theory of the Greek philosophers, such as Aristotle.
