The EJI-PATER – 1st Young Researchers’ Meeting in Landscape, Heritage and Territory Studies aims to become an scientific annual event based on three basilar lines (Landscape, Heritage and Territory) in the optics of different scientific areas in interaction, such as Archaeology, Architecture, Geology, History, among many others. It also pretends to encourage holistic approaches that contribute to increase multi and interdisciplinarity. Even though starting from the North of Portugal, studies from other areas of Portuguese and Iberian territory will be welcome. EJI-PATER was idealized to serve all young researchers: graduated, master’s and PhD’s students, masters or PhD that achieved their grade at least at 10 years, so as other non academic affiliated elements (or teams) (belonging to City Halls, Companies, etc.) which pretend to participate. The meeting aims to promote all works in the following areas: (a) studies on landscapes resulting from historical processes; it fit on this item approaches to settlement, exploitation of “resources”, power scenarios and relations, social practices, among others; (b) studies on cultural and natural heritage (landscapes, geology, etc.) in articulation, including recent concerns and guidelines about Tourism and sustainable development, so on the role of new technologies as allies answering to all new challenges resulting from actual conditions of cultural fruition; (c) studies on territory and environment in relation to space dynamics, namely all forms of environmental occupation, organization, construction and interaction. (d) Studies on art (including prehistoric rock art and portable art) as cognitive conceiving and bearers of “messages”; (e) studies on materialities (ceramic, lithic, metal, glass, etc.), bone remains (human and animal) and paleoenvironmental approaches (such as anthracology, carpology, etc.); (f) all approaches that the Scientific Commission consider to fit on the Meeting baseline themes (Landscape, Heritage and Territory). All proposals will be subjected to scientific expertise. The event format will contemplate three days of oral and posters presentations, posteriorly publishing the accepted works. During the Meeting will occur a competition subordinate to the theme “Present Past”. All type of artistic works will be accepted, such as photos, free drawings, illustrations, etc. The works must include an honour signed declaration attesting its authorship. The works will be exhibited during the event and the winner will became the meeting minutes cover.
