El cuerpo como práctica artística y primer instrumento de los cuidados (original) (raw)
Our body is the pre-eminent instrument care is given onto, and the vehicle of care itself; has been and is a reviled enigma and an undiscovered land: reviled for how much it hides and how little it shows, and even more for what it still has to reveal. Taken as the thread of thought, word is left out in order to articulate a mute discourse , made visible through its artistic representations. Defining the different parts of the body and the various liaisons that lead to health and illness, by means of representations framed in a variety of cultures and times, the body has become a surface which acts as inspiration or base for our life events to be printed on. Considering the body as a privileged instrument of care does not only imply mentioning the participating senses but rediscovering sensitivity. Rediscovering what it feels, searching what others feel and clarifying what one feels. Walking a personal path that goes beyond using hands to handle, transport, lift, take, inject, press, caress, massage, etc.
