Towards a Learning System Based on Arabic NLP Tools
International Journal of Information Retrieval Research, 2016
The evolution of computer technology stimulates us to develop a learning environment that addresses many of the problems associated with the use of words in Arabic. A learning platform of Arab foreign language used automatic language processing tools (NLP) based on multi-agent approach. Initially, this environment gives teachers the ability to automatically design other variants of educational activities, which notably includes automatic evaluations. Then it enables the learner to build his or her language skills and to learn concepts of the Arabic language.
Arabic E-learning and Computer Tools

Arabic conversational agent for modern Islamic education
2015
This thesis presents research that combines the benefits of intelligent tutoring systems (ITS), Arabic conversational agents (CA) and learning theories by constructing a novel Arabic conversational intelligent tutoring system (CITS) called Abdullah. Abdullah CITS is a software program intended to deliver a tutorial to students aged between 10 and 12 years old, that covers the essential topics in Islam using natural language. The CITS aims to mimic a human Arabic tutor by engaging the students in dialogue using Modern standard Arabic language (MSA), whilst also allowing conversation and discussion in classical Arabic language (CAL). Developing a CITS for the Arabic language faces many challenges due to the complexity of the morphological system, non-standardization of the written text, ambiguity, and lack of resources. However, the main challenge for the developed Arabic CITS is how the user utterances are recognized and responded to by the CA, as well as how the domain is scripted a...
Arabic language learning system using NLP tools and pedagogically indexed text
—This article presents the benefits of using the computer as a tool for learning and teaching foreign languages. It describes the effect of using the Natural Language Processing (NLP) tools to learn Arabic. The technique explored in this particular case is the employment of texts indexed pedagogically. This method based on text provides to the teacher the advantage of creating activities on texts adapted to a particular educational situation. The prime objective of this study was to propose an Arabic Language Learning (ALL) for kids of ages between 4 to 6 years old that enable them to learn the language. In the process, an interactive field-tested ALL for kids has been developed as an alternative to the traditional learning tools. The results of user evaluation on the ALL indicate that it has good usability in terms of Learnability, Usefuln...
iLEINITIATIVE: Interactive Online Platform In Teaching and Learning Arabic For Gifted Students
International Journal of Advanced Science and Technology, 2020
The study examined the effectiveness of an interactive learning platform known as "Intelligent Learning Environment" or iLE that was developed for the PERMATAInsan School Holiday programme. iLE was the online class and support system for the teaching and learning of the Arabic language for gifted and talented students who are non-native speakers of Arabic language. Methodology-From more than 200 programme participants, the researchers randomly selected 10% (20 students) of them. They were primary students who joined the programme since the age of eight. Separate interview sessions were planned, and they were video-recorded. Their responses were analysed using NVivo 10 software. Findings-Respondents found out that iLE helped them in their Arabic language study and revision. The interactive online learning site was easily accessible and always updated. It also helped them to communicate with the tutor and this method also provided instructors the flexibility of portal contents development. Significance-The iLEportal was an efficient online learning model and it was beneficial in increasing students' vocabulary which in turn improves their writing and reading skills.
