Body Area Network in Health Care System with Future Analysis
— Body Area Network (BAN) is widely used in medical healthcare systems. Under WSN (Wireless Sensor Network) technology many applications are developed in Body Area Network (BAN). In medical applications the sensor network is widely used now days. Applications like Healthcare Monitoring System, Smart Hospitality, and Continuous patient monitoring system are under Body Area Network (BAN) technology. Sensors are attached on the body of patient by which values are to be taken, analyzed for healthcare system. WBAN offers wide variety for evaluation of healthcare in medical systems. Various sensors can be connected to the on clothing or on-body and also implanted under skin. There sensors are used to calculate the parameters from the body of patient. And the values are taken from sensors is given to the analyzing device or hardware by the wired or wireless devices such as Bluetooth, Zigbee etc. BAN gives wide availability of healthcare devices all the time. Projects are done in Body Area Network (BAN) from 1976. A wearable computer, sensor network based medical monitoring system, Europian Mob health etc. are some of the examples of project in WBAN. Wireless Body area network is now often used in Mobile Health Application and it is emerging technology which gives facilities for human health application. Review of Body Area Network Technology & Wireless Medical Monitoring

Body area network (BAN) is an emerging technology in computer world, and plays very vigorous role in a society, mainly in health services. BAN helps in monitoring vital signs of a patient and can monitor patient's history in routine life activities to provide them accurate treatment. Doctors can check the complete details of patients from remote location and can recommend a suitable medication. The main purpose of this technology is to reduce the load at hospitals and provide efficient healthcare facility remotely using medical implant communication system (MICS) and Wireless medical telemetry system (WMTS). To monitor the patients in their natural environments is not practical when devices or sensors are connected through a wire that is why we use Wireless body area network (WBAN) to carrying out daily activities through unobtrusive and contented way. This technology can provide very cheaper, easier and quick respondent history of patient.
A Survey Overview: On Wireless Body Area Network and Its Various Applications
With the remarkable change of mobile radio communication over the past years in the wireless communication technologies, makes the Wireless Body Area Network (WBAN) services to be adopted by most of the people around the world. Wireless body area network is such a special purpose sensor network that was made for continues monitoring the health parameters in real time with the different wireless sensors by implanting internally or externally of a human body. This wireless sensed information from the vital organs of the human body may be in the form of data, voice; video signals are communicated wirelessly through WBAN. This survey article presents an overview on-the WBAN communication architecture, comparison of WBAN and Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN), WBAN operating protocols-those are intended for short range wireless communication, and its applications in the medical and non-medical field have been out lined.
Survey on Wireless Body Area Network for Healthcare Applications

This paper presents the survey/review on various aspects of WBAN technologies that are being used in healthcare applications. Wireless Body Area Network (WBAN) is the network of sensors worn on the body, used to describe a network of devices connected to wireless communication system. In particular, we have inspected monitoring and sensing, system architectures and applications of Wireless Body Area Network for healthcare system. We conclude by discussions on open research issues, their potential solutions and future trends useful for applications in healthcare system. WBAN opens up a whole new field of sensor networking and intelligent technology for healthcare applications but the problem lies in varying specifications and operating platforms.

Wireless Body Area Sensor Networks (WBASN) is an forthcoming technology which utilizes wireless sensor nodes to implement real-time wearable health monitoring of patients. These sensor nodes can be worn externally or implanted inside the body to monitor multiple bio-parameters (such as blood oxygen saturation, blood pressure and heart activity) of multiple patients at a central location in the hospital. It is a radio frequency based wireless networking technology. Here patients' health status can be monitored anytime and anywhere without restricting his/her mobility. Thus patient can live his/her normal daily life activities. This paper presents architecture of a wireless health monitoring system. The system consists of multiple sensor nodes which observe various body vital parameters and heart activities. Primary motivation of Body Area Network is to provide steady, timely, comfortable and proper monitoring of physical and biomedical parameters of patient continuously.

Advanced Methods for Complex Network Analysis
Wireless Body Area Network (WBAN) is an emerging field of research which has been progressing rapidly in recent years. WBAN is a network utilized for continuous monitoring of physiological state of the subject, where the patient can perform his regular activities while his body parameters get measured continuously and are accessed by the physician remotely. This chapter provides a thorough survey of current WBAN technologies in the healthcare sector. Besides the recording of physiological parameters, discussions have been provided on remote data transmission to a server called Virtual Doctor Server (VDS). During this transmission, WBAN network uses various technologies namely Ultra Wide Band WBAN, Technology Enabled Medical Precision Observation 3.1 (TEMPO 3.1), J2ME and Bluetooth. Details of several existing WBAN related projects have been discussed along with their applications. The next section of the chapter deals with the use and design of medical sensors in WBAN. Performance comparison between WBAN and WSN (Wireless Sensor Network) has also been provided.

A WBAN consists of low-power tiny wireless nodes placed on or around the human body that continuously observe vital health signs of a patient. These sensors are capable of sending information of physiological parameters taken from human body to other devices for diagnosis procedures and prescription. WBAN provides ubiquitous healthcare services and enables greater mobility without restricting human normal activities, as the medical personnel can observe the patient health conditions based on the data received through the wireless network. This research work provides a WBAN based healthcare monitoring system that can provide the electrocardiogram (ECG), heartbeat, and human body temperature information. The wireless transmission of the received data from human body is performed by using Zigbee IEEE802.15.4 communication standard. The physiological data will be communicated to remote medical server where data is stored and analyzed. In case any disease is diagnosed, medical personnel can provide immediate assistance to the patients.

Over the past years a booming interest is comprehended in the field of wireless communication for the development of a monitoring system to observe human vital organs activities remotely. Wireless Body Area Network (WBAN) is such network that provides a continuous monitoring over or inside human body for a long period and can support transmission of real time traffic such as data, voice, video to observe the status of vital organs functionalities. In this paper an overview of WBAN technology and its requirements has been narrated. The aim of this paper was to offer a suitable and appropriate wireless technology for deploying WBAN. Several suitable short range wireless communication technologies that can be adopted in WBAN have also been discussed. Finally numerous applications in the field of medical and non-medical sectors using WBAN technology have been outlined.
WBAN is becoming significant technology in many fields such as medical, entertainment, sports, electronics, military applications etc. It is basically a short range communication in or on a human body. Recent advances in WBAN making it more facilitated in both hospital and home care environment. And this helps to provide better health care facilities for the human being. Basically, WBAN is a network of biomedical sensors and these sensors are attached or worn out by the human body. It brings out a set of changes in WBAN systems including system's scalability, efficiency, lifetime, security, sensors density etc. to make it more efficient. Many studies were performed to make the WBAN system secure, real-time monitored, flexible, and power efficient for suitable health care applications.
