The aim of the article, which is addressed to a German reader with phraseological interests, is the depiction of research development within phraseology and terminological agreements in the tradition of phraseology in Polish and German. In the centre of our interest remains the definition of the term phraseme, specification and description of the phraseme features in the context of the contemporary research and also attempts concerning phraseme classifications.

Heritage speakers (HS) of Polish constitute a group with increasing importance in contemporary German society. Their partial bilingual competence should be supported, developed and improved. The article shows, how the sociocultural background variables of the 51 HS involved correlate (or do not correlate) with their performance in the test on their general linguistic proficiency in Polish. Then two individual linguistic features (morphosyntax of the adjective and the numeral) are analyzed and compared to the performance of two control groups (late Polish-German bilinguals, Polish monolinguals). For the adjective, the correct marking of the masculine personal form turns out to be the most problematic, followed by government and agreement rules. Concerning the numerals, HS show problems in indicating date and time and tend not to use collective numerals, but to replace them either by cardinal numbers or numeral nouns.
