This study aims to analyze how the composition of the Qualis Periodicals of the areas that comprise the grand area of Applied Social Sciences and its influence on the Qualis Periodicals of the area of Management. For this, we seek secondary data such as manuals and area documents obtained from the Capes, Education Ministry sites that is about evaluation and and Qualis criteria and on articles in which there is a discussion on the subject. The results show that the criteria used in the area of Management have differences in relation to other areas, whereas these have convergence among themselves, it also shows that most of the regular A1 periodicals of the entire area of Applied Social Sciences are published in English. We conclude that the management criteria are quite different in relation to the criteria of the other areas and propose discussions about this finding.
